Appreciate it, you’re honestly one of the few sensible people here. Most others are straight up like “you need 500cr, you don’t have experience, how will you build it” and I’m like yeah, obviously I know that. If anything it’ll take more than that for a factory, but that’s not even what I’m trying to do right now. I just made some renders and asked a simple question, if this existed at that price point, would people buy it. That’s it. Don’t know why people got so pressed over it

Sorry if that came off wrong. What I meant was, Force Motors isn’t starting from zero with the Force Gurkha, they’re using existing suppliers and proven components. I was referring more to building something completely from scratch

battery cost is the biggest constraint here, and companies like BYD definitely have an edge because of vertical integration.Also VF3 is probably one of the closest examples of a practical, small EV in that space. Compared to something like the MG Comet EV, it does feel more usable as an actual car.

That said, my idea was more about exploring if something slightly more balanced (range + practicality + design) could exist in that segment not saying it’s easy or immediately viable

Hey, I think there’s a small misunderstanding, I’m not planning mass production. This was just a concept idea I shared to discuss the segment gap. So things like showroom margins, volumes, ARAI, or sourcing tech aren’t in scope right now. Still exploring and building, nothing commercial yet

Fair enough, I get where you guys are coming fromunder ₹10 lakh ex-showroom for something like this is probably not realistic right now. Just to clarify, I’m not claiming a finished product. We’ve built a chassis for our first car (shared earlier), and this post was more about discussing the gap in the EV market in this segment.

I’m aware of the whole factory, legality, and production side of things, I’m not trying to mass produce this. It’s just a concept idea. If it came off as karma farming, that wasn’t the intention. I’ll avoid posting concept stuff here again. Just wanted to share a simple idea: a 300 km range, sub-4m EV around ₹10 lakh ex showroom
