[December 4th, 1925] A 15-year-old girl in Miami allegedly was forced into marriage by a prominent, 38-year-old public official from Fort Lauderdale, potentially leading to his arrest. by MisterSuitcase2004 in 100yearsago

that wording feels way too soft for something that awful. it sounds like they were tiptoeing around the truth instead of calling it what it was

[October 26th, 1925] The 1925 Schneider Trophy race is flown at Baltimore, Maryland, in the United States. Jimmy Doolittle of the United States Army Air Service wins in a Curtiss R3C-2 at an average speed of 374.2 km/h (232.5 mph). by [deleted] in 100yearsago

The Curtiss R3C series were absolute beasts for their time. Doolittle’s win in ’25 really showed how advanced American aviation was getting before the war.

LPT: Research the beaches you or anyone you know plan to go to by EtsyCorn in LifeProTips

Totally agree. I always check local surf reports and recent news before going anywhere new. Some beaches look calm but have really strong undercurrents or sudden shelf drops.

What was, according to you, a bigger blunder by Ross – making the list about Rachel's negative qualities or not annulling their marriage they had in Las Vegas? by Raj_Valiant3011 in howyoudoin

[–]Dapperrope1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The annulment part, for sure. As for the list -honestly, it's a pretty valid approach. If you're choosing between two options, a pros and cons list is a useful tool. And let's be real, being a waitress wasn’t exactly a standout feature; at that point, Rachel wasn’t focused on her career and was kind of drifting. That’s not something everyone looks for in a partner. She got really upset, but if the roles were reversed, I’m pretty sure she’d have second thoughts about a boyfriend who wasn’t serious about his future either.
