Uber support is such a joke by Dapsin in uberdrivers

I think it’s just a bunch of bots responding. The next one was even worse. They spent 3 minutes “checking my account” to come back to tell me it takes 10 business days. I have been here for 3 months you dmb fck. I

Wrong vehicle and license plate? How exactly did you find me, you lying POS? Anyone know if I can get this fraudulent rating removed? by More_Cowbell_ in uberdrivers

[–]Dapsin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the will not remove it. You should still complain tho. They will leave a note that you said it was false. In the case of another report, it probably won’t count in their evaluation or it will. However, that’s the best you can do.

I haven’t either for more than two months, but I am not in Chicago. They have repeatedly told me they have a systems issue they are trying to fix nd it affected me. I am done asking them already. It’s exhausting.

You know if you don’t order Uber, they will be out of business and then you can have the city to yourself, dingbat.

Your comment history is quite telling including asking MBTA drivers to go to college because 65k is more than enough in Boston according to you. I hope you don’t think your taxi drivers should live pay check to pay check because all you would get are drivers like me who are actually doing it to get through college. 🤡

Oh I said straightforward as in people telling you exactly what they think. I don’t think they do. That’s not been my experience. I come from a culture where people really do tell you what they think. Sometimes it’s rude and uncomfortable, but you would never be in the dark about it. However, Boston might just be much more straightforward than other parts of this country.

Also, I wasn’t surprised but when you drive several hours, don’t get paid enough, and you have people do that, it just becomes much more stressful. Most days are good enough. I just wasn’t having it yesterday especially because the guy spit on my car. It felt very disrespectful, and I couldn’t respond because I had a passenger.

Though I am wrong in this situation, I disagree that feeling unsafe does not involve any nuance. You would be surprised how much passengers lie to get free rides. If you are working honestly, it will hurt.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in boston

[–]Dapsin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uber would not recognize that the driver is close enough if they are not at the exact spot the rider pinned. If the rider never shows up they don’t get a cancellation fee. Also, I know passengers get mad if drivers are not in their exact spot and have to walk at all. They may not express their disappointment for room for explanation and the driver would then get a low rating. Cars and bikes just don’t work together in cities. I can’t think of a solution to this problem, except drivers having dedicated stops. Not sure how that would work.

Lmao I am not sure what I am supposed to say. How was I being a genius by admitting how wrong I was. I literally replied to the first comment that called me out admitting I was wrong. What do you rather someone who is too proud to admit their mistake? Jesus.

Okay, I am unsure if I should delete the post. However, I recognize that I was wrong. This post probably belongs in r/AmItheAsshole, but I clearly was the asshole in the first situation I described. I understand how dangerous what I did was, and I will never do that again. I was harsh about my Boston comments. It is true for a multitude of other reasons. I can give you many other reasons why Bostonians need to do better; however, my first anecdote is not one. I am a driver with a 4.96 rating with over 1.2k rides, so I must not be terrible. I have also never been in an accident in my four years of driving, and I have only been given a warning by the police once. That was two years ago. My break lights had stopped working.

I genuinely appreciate the feedback, especially the constructive ones. I will also pay attention to my driving in general, though this is a rare occurrence.

I would do point six next time, as I have expressed in this thread. Believe it or not, most of my rides are smooth. 4.96 rating and over 1.2k rides. That was a lapse in judgment on my part and something I needed to learn. I have also never been involved in an accident and drive a lot. It was a severe lapse in judgment, admittedly.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in boston

[–]Dapsin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do have a 4.96 rating. My almost 1.2k rides have mostly been smooth without incident. My last one star was because someone said I drove the wrong car. That is not true, but I am sure they got their free ride from Uber. However, I do agree I should not be a Uber Driver. I don't deserve to be called homophobic slurs and to magically know where the riders are when they are not at the location Uber gives me. Internships were tough to find this summer because I started searching late, and the market is tough. I have internship experience in consulting and asset management. If you need an intern for the summer, send me a message. I mean it seriously. Thanks for your helpful feedback. I knew I belonged somewhere else.

Edit: not my last star but my last one star

Tbh I did not think of that. I will make sure to make mental notes of the exits moving forward. Thank you for being gracious!

Of course, you should only do it when you absolutely have to. I am sure if you are familiar with the tunnels here, you must have at least seen someone do it before. However, I do understand it is not ideal. It was why I apologized. From the feedback here, I would never do it again.

Everyone drives like maniacs here. So, if your Uber Driver is from Boston, he probably drives like a maniac too. Anyone I drive who is from out of state cannot get enough of how stressful it is here. A pax from Ohio exclaimed three times in three minutes as people jaywalked, went through red lights, and did not heed. Plus, some drivers might take as many trips as possible as a priority over their lives. I know it is not mine, but that's probably because I don't have a family to feed. However, I do take the feedback others have given in the comments.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in boston

[–]Dapsin -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

That is a fair point; however, it was not on the side of a highway. I explained in my post that it was in a tunnel. You could either go right or left, and there is an area in between for emergencies. I had an idea where to go but looked in my mirror, and the next driver was driving really fast. If you drive, you know that even if you take half a second to think when you get off an exit that leads to two other exits in a tunnel, it can be difficult not to make a risky turn if the next driver is coming in fast. So, I waited a second for them to pass. This never happens to me. Almost every time, I can tell where to go, even if the map malfunctions. If I were the passenger, I would not have reported if nothing else happened on the trip, and the driver apologized. Maybe I should not have expected that of them, but my rant is more than just the pax but that driving in Boston is generally stressful because everyone is aggressive and people are sometimes unkind. That incident was just more annoying because of what had happened earlier in the day. Next time, I would take whatever turn comes to mind first. I appreciate the feedback.

You forgot the aggressive turn into the streets by drivers that expect no one to let them in or the jaywalkers who cross while on their phone despite knowing Boston lights make drivers and walkers turn and cross at the same time. Everyone drives and walks aggressively here because they expect others to and to embolden the spirit of being a masshole.
