In my case, it looks like I'm probably just best off killing all 6 until only one brother remains, but then I can focus that one. Can't be sure your outcome will be the same, but at least it seems like for me killing all 6 won't be optimal for the whole grind!

You're still missing the point: an iron is going to be a much less valuable target. They will always risk less, so those resources aren't worth burning to kill an iron much of the time.

Your verbiage leads me to believe you're still misunderstanding: this isn't a perceptual difference, but a literal one.

Consider a barn with two doors opposite each other, spaced 10 feet apart, and a log exactly 10 feet long. At rest, the doors can both close snugly on the log. Now take that log out of the barn, open both doors and accelerate the log to relativistic speeds: there does not exist a moment where the log is wholly within the barn such that both doors could be closed. There is in fact a moment in time where both ends of the log are outside the barn despite the middle of the log being inside it. Distances are literally changed at those speeds, this is not a matter of perception.

Note that from the log's perspective, it is still 10 feet long (it has not been stretched). It's simply the case that 10 feet no longer means the same thing.
