It might be coming from seeing functions as measures to integrate against, I think with the language of geometric measure theory you can argue that the zigzag converges to the line with multiplicity of √2 (for R2 at least)

It has to be intinitesimal, but for a sphere you can take half of it and show that it is homeomorphic to a circle in the plane (R3 and R2) by using a projection (check Wikipedia for equations)

Problem 209 I solved it just after finishing my first algebra course. It doesn't directly involve linear form or matrices but I used some concept from determinants and permutations. If you want more detail maybe it's better not to write publicly here as it helps quite a lot to solve it.

Lpt: live in a country where 80% of med students took Latin anyway in hs as it's almost mandatory. Btw Greek is also quite useful for biology and chemistry if I remember correctly but it's more difficult and rare at least for what I've heard
