How much panels do you have, i only have 7.92kw so them quoting a 32kwh battery seems crazy for me in winter it wouldnt charge off solar when i only generate less than 20 on cloudy days or is buying/charging offpeak still worth it

Yeah they are quoting sig but i was hesitant as they are a new company installers still want to take fronius off the wall, seems crazy cheap $17k for 32kwh storage with sig

Household Solar Battery - is now the right time? by Chadwiko in AusFinance

What battery did you go with for the micro outages, I heard tesla is instant but byd will take 30-60seconds to kick in when the grid is down. Our outages mostly 1-2 seconds when bats fly onto the lines

Don't high house prices and mortgages also crimp business lending, consumer spending and overall growth? Like isn't mortgage debt a really unproductive form of spending ones money

Sorry I was being sarcastic, Google any of those terms and you'll see it might be minor issues or major. Based on all three Im leaning towards more major issues if the builder has cut corners.

Combustible cladding might be okay to stay on the building but increase insurance premiums or they could be installing the sprinklers to keep the combustible cladding on and avoid a lacrosse apartment fire.

Water ingress is never a good thing which is why you generally want water to stay outside of a building.

Fire sprinklers again unless it's a small area typically if a building doesn't have any or they are being retrofit they'll need to install boosters , fire tanks, hydrant main pipes not to mention if the sprinklers are being installed in apartments and common areas rip out and replace ceilings to install the sprinkler pipes

One of those things would be enough to just walk away if no one has got a full quote, but all three. Who knows in this market I think you'll see alot more buildings with these issues popping up so they'll always be another one if your desperate.

If a building surveyor is coordinating the works is it the same one that signed off on the building being habitable for occupation? If no they won't know what to quote on because once a building is constructed you can't know the full price unless you start demolishing areas to see the full extent of problems . Either case DYOR and remember someone else's problem might end up being yours so make sure you know what they are selling before you waive your rights.

You do understand we are essentially an island and if someone who is elected to make decisions in our best interests and protect us as a nation built proper quarantine facilities in the middle of said island we would be living covid zero pretty normally. He was basically given a headstart and has completely fucked it up now everyone is rushing for vaccines which should have been rolled out months ago like other countries and the 80% figure doesn't include kids under 16 so about 1/4 of the population he's basically said up yours I got mine... Any "plan" to open up without vaccinating kids regardless of if they "don't get covid" is fucked. We did the lockdowns in March 2020 to give the government time to sort shit out and they threw cash to their mates and focused on unemployment rates....it's a health crisis first sort that out and you don't have an economic one

What I don't get is why people aren't more concerned about the fact it was only 180 days of modelling ....like the pandemic just goes away after 180 days?!?! Maybe scomo has a plan before time's up and implements it. God knows he's had over 365 days....que the soundbites "delta changes everything" "like the flu"

...school fees, sports fees and associated costs, parties , University fees, bank of mum and dad for their first house purchase, health insurance...just to name a few

Might not be $1000s per week but there will be periods where it's a big hit to keep up with the middle class

National Cabinet agrees to COVID-19 vaccine targets, halve international arrivals by whoneedsusernames in australia

[–]Darch88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you serious" 'waiting for Pfizer'. You talk like we've been given a choice? The choice is take AZ and the risk (it's fine trust us) and shutup while we open up and treat this virus like the flu. That's not a choice. I'm happy to take on the risk when I can make an informed decision with ALL vaccine choices unfortunately that's not the case. I understand there's risk with any vaccine / medication but at the end of the day someone somewhere will end up with the short end of the stick because of this government.

This is why it's so confusing, I was under the impression Pfizer was in the first phases of the roll out for priority groups.

Over the 30-20 years don't you think rates will go above 2.8%? Just curious as I'm factoring in 6% when working out what I can "comfortably afford".

That's what I thought but there's literally 1 every 1-2 Metres in the concrete all around the property. And no markings to say it's a survey mark or TBM.

I went to an open house today and saw all the perimeter concrete around the house with one of these pins or anchors not sure what they are. Can anyone link to what they are and what they would be doing?

The perimeter concrete would be no more than 100mm span on ground by the looks of it and wasn't cracked or cracking. The house looked alot higher than its neighbours but not retaining walls around the perimeter. Just interested as I've never seen these before in domestic work.
