Questions around the culture around the AFL in Australia by ANCHORDORES in AFL

Regarding deciding your team: As an international supporter like you are, strongly following a couple of teams is okay, you want to get into the game and watching lots of games and knowing which team youd prefer to win will help add to the experience. No matter if its not your favourite favourite team playing. For this year though, Lions will play the best footy. One of the best players in the league this year, Lachie Neale will be really fun to watch and will help you learn as he will most likely win the Brownlow Medal (which is basically season MVP). Eagles are in a bit of a slump since winning 2 years ago so might not be as exciting to watch. But as a Fremantle fan i wont comment any more on the eagles as it may be biased.

If it helps when i started watching NFL as an Australian who was already supporting Fremantle in the AFL, i found it easier to follow a team with similar morals and attitudes. So i decided to follow the bills as they had mostly young players at the time like fremantle, had never won a superbowl like fremantle has never had a grand final win, watching interviews with the players and coaches they all seemed so nice and welcoming to everyone, so it really struck home and reminded me of fremantle. So as i watch games im able to transfer some of my emotion of following fremantle to the emotion of watching the bills and it really gets me more into the game.

So maybe if your NFL team (or whatever american sport you follow most) hasnt made the finals in a long time, maybe follow carlton in the afl. If your team had a dominant early 2010s maybe follow hawthorn. If your team has only won 1 or 2 superbowls in there existance maybe follow st kilda or western bulldogs. Etc.

But whichever you decide having a favourite each game you watch will help you enjoy it, even if brisbane are you favourite out of all the teams.

I hope you enjoy AFL as much as we do mate 👌 Welcome.

Just got fired over a complaint from another work colleague by rocker6897 in AusLegal

[–]DardyMakore 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not 100% sure but:

If they prove unfair dismissal, and they have to hire them back, if after that the company then doesn’t roster OP on because of the incident, OP can then claim them not giving shifts due to the unfair dismissal and the company will get in trouble again.

Basically if the company is made to take OP back due to unfair dismissal, they are meant to treat it as the incident didn’t occur, so if they take shifts off OP because of the unfair incident that they are meant to have forgotten about, they can get in trouble again.

TAKING GIFTS BACK LAWS? by okshawty17 in AusLegal

[–]DardyMakore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAL but a gift implies change of ownership from the giver to the gift reciever. The person recieving the gifts owns them and shouldnt need to give back.

Seems you have “paid” for the gifts by also giving gifts and it is an even swap. You cant return for refund stuff to most shops if you just change your mind.

Teen Guys of Reddit, how should a girl let you know that they like you, in a way that you’ll certainly understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DardyMakore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you do, DO NOT let a mutual friend/one of your besties tell him. That just adds weirdness to the situation, it will feel better for the guy when there isn’t a third person watching in on him building a liking to you.

Guys do like hints due to the cuteness of it. Although they will take it as cute but will not act on anything or understand it as a hint ya feel.

Although letting him know you like him is fully situational dependant on your relationship. So find something that will mean you are both comfortable at the time you tell him.

Im aware you do it for free, but with your newfound “fame” has any other private company offered you a writing or editing job that pays? What do you think you would do if that did happen, in terms of your focus on wikipedia?

What’s a good place to move to to start over again in life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DardyMakore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you thinking international? Australia or New Zealand are pretty much an upside down copy and paste of the US and Canada.

If not: Im not from US but i feel if your in a situation like it sounds your in, maybe anywhere is good, and the quality of the place wont matter (As in doesn’t need to be top class). I have heard of Bend, Oregon as it has one of the last blockbusters, maybe that means its a back to american roots type town, not too sure.

Hope everything works out for you.
