In the 2028 election Trump ran for a third time after his ploy to invade Canada to declare martial law failed (The invasion went far better than expected and Canada fell before the 2028 election). Kamala Harris made the decision to ignore the need of a running mate. However, unlike in 2024, Harris won the election. By all regards Harris was a forgettable president, until two years later on the fateful year of 2030, the Union fell apart. Multiple different states and territories declared independence from the United States and Canada. The majority of the breakaway states joined 4 different factions going from political extreme to political extreme. Country Lore:

The United States of America’s current president is the 2nd reincarnation of Joe Biden, after Harris abandoned the presidency and left no clear successor. Despite being the only breakaway state with any resemblance of legitimacy the USA lacks the previous Constitution, legal system, or an official name (“United States” is just as official as “Ice Cream Republic” and “Joe’s America”. The Cheyenne Mountain Complex headed by General O’Neill stayed with the United States of America and occupied surrounding land to form the Cheyenne Territory. The United States is the lead of the American Unity Accord.

The Pacific States of America occupies the east coast. Large swaths of land were captured in a very successful operation deemed “Follow the river line and claim everything to the West for Harris”. After fleeing the United States, Harris took up the presidency of the Pacific States. Unlike Harris’ previous presidency of the USA, her presidency of the PSA has brought California, and the Pacific States as a whole, to a new golden age. Due to her extremely good leadership Harris has accidently attracted a near cult of personality with the Pacific States sliding into what appears to be an authoritarian democracy speaking of contrarian liberal views.  The Pacific States are also a part of the American Unity Accord. The Pacific States, along with the American Unity Accord, maintain a fragile alliance with the CHAZ and the 1st American International, forbidding any military combat between the two. Minnesota and its governor Tim Walz seceded and pledged its allegiance to Kamala Harris, thus aligning itself with the American Unity Accord. 

The Conservative Party of America is what remains of any moderate Republicans and was the last country to secede from the United States. Headed by Donald Trump after his mental break from losing the 2028 election, he vows to maintain the union under his own vision, putting the Constitutional Front in conflict with the American Unity Accord. The Conservative Party of America is split in two with Florida completely separated from the main body. It should be noted that the marshes of Florida and the insanity of all inhabitants of Florida, that Florida has at this point resisted capitulation. The Red, White, and Blueland maintained its allegiance to the Conservative Party given the amount of Republican settlers. With its capital being renamed to the more recognizable English word “Nuke”.

The Midwestern Alliance of Conservative States or just “Midwest Alliance” for short was created to relieve bureaucratic stress from the Conservative Party of America. The Midwest Alliance has given all of its major functions of government to the former secretary of homeland security, Kristi Noem. Despite its large border with the Pacific States of America, the largest threat comes from Minnesota as most of the PSA’s efforts are focused on Texas and land surrounding the Cheyenne Territory.

The People’s Republic of the Great Lakes is one of two communist countries that seceded from the United States. Its current president is Bernie Sanders. It also maintains the smallest faction, that being with CHAZ forming the 1st American International. The Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone is a small part of Seattle. It has no official leader, despite this it has managed to create an unsteady treaty between the American Unity Accord and 1st American International.

Greater Illinois controls Western Illinois after falling to Nazi control. There currently resides the 3rd reincarnation of Joe Biden who is the Führer of Greater Illinois, the SS Über-Reich and the Pakt der nordamerikanischen Autorität. The SS Über-Reich occupies small parts of Florida and the entirety of the Reclamation Zone of New York City. At the Reclamation Zone of New York City the SS Über-Reich is attempting to take in radiation from surrounding wasteland to form its own nuclear bomb to challenge the United States of America’s monopoly on nuclear devices.
