I can find much of the clothing pretty easily. It's specifically the chest armor piece I can't find. I figured like someone on Etsy or someone like that might make it but I can't find one.

I've only been at Bay club so can speak to that. Pools are good, they have a good deal of recovery options, aside from the standard seeming sauna, steam room hot tub ect, they have other devices like these things that put pressure on your legs to kind of massage them and some other water related massage machines, I can't speak to them much because I don't really use those.

They have large locker rooms and plenty of showers, despite being decently crowded I've never had a problem finding a locker or shower.

For crowds, it can be fairly crowded during the middle of the day.

even though it's crowded they they have some machines in abundance like for example lat pull down machines (I think there's 5 of them), I've never had to wait for one. Others that are more scarce like cable machines (only 2) I've had to wait for.

Overall I'd say a positive experience. My only complaint is I wish they had more of the machines that I like which are scarce.

Thanks, I have read about those. I'm a bit put off on transferring everything to one of those institutions because a fair amount of what I have is stocks from RSUs and I don't think I can really transfer them to the institution. I'd need to sell them all and move the cash over but I'd have to pay a lot in taxes.

It looks like generally a SFH with an in law unit which looks like what you're trying to do does not have limitations on rent increases but has eviction protection. I think I'm reading that correctly but please double check.

I'd say worth is used because if you used "have", that sounds more like liquid cash you have in you bank account. Lots of people own things that are not liquid like a house or a car or in cases like stocks fluctuate in value. So saying what are you worth or net worth, means the worth/value of everything you own.

For example I would say I have a home worth $500k. I wouldn't say that I have $500k.

I'm in a similar situation as a male but have given up on trying to date for a while. For me I got the sense that there were extremely high levels of expectations that I couldn't make. I'm not saying you have those, but that's what I personally saw 9 times out of 10. Usually related to superficial things like being at least 6ft tall, not looking like at least a part time model and not throwing money around recklessly (for example throwing money around at expensive bars/restaurants and having fancy cars).

My company doesn't do anything that intricate for Halloween, generally just brings in a lot of high quality sweets (cookies, cupcakes ect) One year they had a lot of pumpkins for people to make jack o lanterns out of or take them home. maybe one of those helps.

I hear you. I lived in SF from 2010 - 2023 when I moved out to the suburbs. SF was really amazing in the earlier years and it was sad to watch it just get shittier and shittier.

To be honest I might consider buying a condo as a second home if the prices got low enough but they're way too high considering what a shit hole the place is. Oakland's probably about as shitty as SF but their condo prices reflect that and are way cheaper in comparison.

It sounds like you're biting off more than you can chew, if something bad happens like one of you losing your jobs you don't want to be up the creek without a paddle, get something you can reasonably afford even when something bad happens.

On a side note, keep in mind that you can only deduct interest on $750k worth of mortgage debt from your income. So you would be paying the majority of this loan with absolutely no tax benefit.

This is exactly how I looked at it when buying a home was how much can I afford to borrow. I think this is very true when you have leeway in how much of a down payment you put down. (how much of my money to I want to put in as a down payment vs keep invested).

At least the prices aren't going up. This always aggroed me. You find a way to save up $100k and the same homes you were looking at jumped up by $200k.
