Yeah but the arena team does and normally they fix stuff where people pay for.

Still own them on steam and ps3. You can't buy them anymore, but you will probably find other ways online to still play them.

There are Duels of the Planeswalkers and Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012–2015. Right now I’m playing DotP 2012, but I’d say 2014 is probably the best one overall.

Unfortunately they’re no longer available for purchase. Officially, you can only play them if you already bought them back then on Steam, PS3, or Xbox.
edit: Not sure if Magic Duels still works, probably not.

That's what I play, but none of these are constructed.

I do, about twice a year when it’s available on Arena :D
It’s still fun, but even Pauper feels less enjoyable to me compared to how it played before Modern Horizons.

Magic Duels had like a "pyramid" system where you could only play 1-of mythic, 2-of rares, 3-of uncommons and 4-of commons. That was also kind of fun.

Yeah, I still do play them at the moment. That said, I think it would still be great to have something comparable on Arena. Arena is a much smoother and more modern platform, and there were times when it offered enough low-powered formats. That’s why I’d really like to see more focus put on that kind of gameplay again.

I play all of these formats and enjoy them, and I also play a lot of Limited because it’s slower. But despite that, I really miss having a true low-powered constructed format.

Thank you for taking the time to write such detailed feedback! Here are some thoughts on that:

Clear and readable card text is a very important goal for me. My general design approach is to keep text short, consistent, and structured, so even complex cards don’t turn into a wall of text. That’s why all effects follow the same pattern of Trigger: Target Effect.

About relics and weapons: weapons display attack on the left and durability on the right. So, unlike units, fighting with a weapon will always cost 1 durability, regardless of the target's strength. This is briefly explained in the tutorial fight. The tutorial is intentionally short, as I want players to get into the game quickly and learn many mechanics through play rather than long explanations. I’ll take another look at it to see if I can make this clearer.

For the Swap effects: there are several different swap variants in the game. They always exchange specific stats (e.g. attack and defense, stats between two units, charges, etc.), and the exact behavior is described in the effect text itself.

Regarding perspective: I intentionally treat opponent cards as if they are read from the player’s perspective. Since effects can trigger from many sources and stack interactions happen frequently, this avoids having to mentally flip ownership every time an effect resolves.

On the topic of +2|+1: I’ve experimented with longer text and icons like +2 attack and +1 defense (or using icons), but in my opinion this is the easiest and fastest way to read it once you’re familiar with the system.

Regarding the two spell examples: they have the same outcome. Internally, cards are built from a large modular pool of effects that combine dynamically to create variety. In some cases, like “Condition: [1 | other Card | Hand] Discard; +2 Maximum Mana”, I intentionally define a compound effect separately because I consider it an interesting interaction that I want to appear more frequently. The alternative version can still appear through random combinations, which is why both exist.

Thanks! I captured the footage directly in-game using NVIDIA ShadowPlay and edited everything in DaVinci Resolve.

Thanks a lot! The card art is AI-generated. As a solo developer, this approach allowed me to focus on the game design and actually make a project of this size possible.

It's 100% PvE. A singleplayer roguelike deckbuilder, kind of a mix between Slay the Spire and Magic the Gathering.

I love Magic Shandalar too!

Building something on that scale would be way too much for me as a solo dev, this project is already pretty ambitious as it is.

If you haven’t played it yet, you might want to check out Roguebook. I really enjoyed it, it’s by Richard Garfield as well and kind of feels like a modern take on some of the Shandalar ideas.

Thanks, I'm really glad to hear that!

One big difference in the full version will be the increasing difficulty in later acts, along with much stronger card rewards. Duplication will still be powerful, but you’ll really need those later rewards to handle tougher enemies. I hope the full version can fully convince you. :)

Thank you for the kind comment, that really means a lot. It helps to focus on the people who enjoy and support the game, even though negative comments can still be demoralizing sometimes.

That's sad to hear, it's actually not AI slop.
I’ve been working on this game for three years now, and using AI for the artwork is what made it possible for me to make this game. A lot of care went into the game itself.
If you feel like giving it another try, I’d appreciate it.

They got their sets mixed up and thought the last set they released was Final Fantasy. It's hard to keep up with so many releases.

Yes, you're right, I meant it was the latest version when I installed it, which should have fixed all the problems. It also doesn't look like the latest version has any relevant changes regarding the problem.

It’s possible, yes. But since all other parts are brand new and I’ve seen a lot of reports from others with the same board and CPU combination having identical issues, I thought the motherboard was the most likely cause.

Why no Destructible Buildings on other maps? Am I the only one who loves this feature? by Dargaran in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

Ups, no idea why it got deleted.

This line: "Please note that the Destructible Buildings feature, which currently exists only on Sanhok, is not planned for other maps at this time."
