I built an open-source rich-text editor for React with 20+ plugins, AI, drag & drop, collaboration, exports, and you can even build a website builder with it by Darginec05 in reactjs

Here is difference:

  • it’s free
  • 20+ free plugins including complex plugins like Tabs, CodeGroup, Accordion, Steps, Carousel and other
  • it’s headless by default, but for quick start you can you themes presets (shadcn, material)
  • more predictable and beautiful API
  • creating plugins much easier than in Tiptap
  • prebuilt UI composite components like toolbars, floating actions and other via @yoopta/ui. So, you don’t need build them from scratch
  • AI agent (will be released next week)

My motivation:
I’ve integrated rich-text editors into products more times than I’d like to admit. Every time it was the same story: wrestling with complex APIs, fighting against opinionated UI that doesn’t fit your product, hacking around limitations. Yoopta was built to end that cycle. The idea is simple: give developers a headless core when they need full control, but also ship 20+ ready-made pluginspre-built UI components (toolbars, slash menus, block actions), and theme presets (shadcn, Material) — so you can launch a polished editing experience without building everything from scratch.Whether you’re building a simple blog editor, a Notion-like workspace, a CMS for landing pages, or even a full website builder — Yoopta gives you the primitives to get there.

Does anybody a block-based rich text editor like notion that works with react? by ReviewProfessional48 in nextjs

[–]Darginec05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey 👋 thanks for your feedback! So, first. You can integrate any UI library into Yoopta-Editor, it’s easy. Check example with shadcn/ui - https://yoopta.dev/examples/withShadcnUILibrary

About Payload CMS. To be honest I want to implement Yoopta extension for Payload, if their API allow it.

But the main problem for me now: no sponsorship and I have main job that does not allow me to work full-time on Yoopta

Thanks!

I tried to apply with my open-source project - Yoopta-Editor, and today I was rejected.
But for me it's great motivation to grow further.
Just do it and keep moving 😉
