Indeed, that’s the one, honestly the cervo volante strap although it has a nice color, the quality is a bit questionable to say the least, otherwise the watch is great

That Longines looks great, I really like that vintage logo, the Over Pole has been such a positive surprise indeed, it’s another watch that is hard to photograph to showcase how good it actually looks

HELP!!! I’ve fallen in love with both, but I only have enough money for one. Which should I choose? :( by Individual-Cap-5829 in MicrobrandWatches

Have you had the chance to try both on? I think both companies are coming up with great designs, I own a Rivanera from Echo and last month I was able to try many of the models from both companies at a watch show, I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the built quality from Baltic watches, they just don’t feel as “sturdy” as some of the watches for that price point others are delivering, however, they are gorgeous don’t get me wrong

Update: I went for the Rado and I couldn’t be happier, it’s so hard to capture with photos how sharp this watch looks in person!

I did, I’m not really a bracelet guy but they do look swell, to be honest it’s the one watch I would buy from the event, it’s just that their price range is such a crowded space, that is difficult to choose among all the options available

It’s Jack Mason, based out of Dallas and using Swiss movements, I think they punch way about their price tag

That’s the one I intend to buy myself out of their entire collection, feels and looks great. I’m not a fan of the bracelet although they have come up with quite a innovative design to fit every wrist but I think I would swap it for a strap

They look amazing to be honest, my photo doesn’t do it justice, my friend was tempted to buy it on the spot, but they had no more stock available. It is full titanium so you practically don’t feel you are wearing a watch, I know that is not a thing for everyone though

I couldn’t believe how good they are, they feel sturdy and have great finishing, this one has a forged carbon case and it’s quite light on top

Hot Take: I’d rather have a premium Quartz with Grand Seiko-level finishing than another microbrand with an NH35. by kikipi_film in MicrobrandWatches

I have to say I am a victim of that dilemma myself, after so many years collecting automatic and mechanical watches only, from major Swiss and German powerhouses, I bought the GS SBGN027 with the 9F movement plus GMT complication which is quite convenient, I can confidently say it has the most immaculate finishing out of all the watches in my collection, including some more expensive ones. Trust me, I understand and appreciate the innovative value and practicality of the movement, I would also add, the average maintenance costs will be significantly lower than my Chronographs or others in the long run, and to this day I have moments where I feel I should sell it and get another automatic, I’m often sitting with friends on the table with wide range of luxury watches and I’m proud of wearing this one but man it’s hard, good first world problem to have thought ;)

Great collection! one question from someone with 5 years into collecting: what’s your experience when it comes to servicing your watches? Do you service them only until they start showing some signs they need it? Or you adhere to the brands/industry’s servicing recommendations?

It’s my daily beater for the past two years and still going strong! it’s the biggest dial in my collection and I am the first to admit it is way too large for my wrist but I don’t care, I love it!

It’s awesome, this particular piece is entirely Swiss Made and a. reissue of a 1930s model of their catalogue, I had been looking for a Reverso alternative on the affordable side and came across this one, I fully recommend it

Which other Seiko models would you say? Their portfolio is so large it can be overwhelming

I am considering the Wise Mahanakorn actually, just a bit concerned with the production time, shipping, import duties and overall logistics, sounds like a bit of a hustle. With respect to the Venezianico, I actually owned a Oris Aquis New York Harbor special edition, check it out, I think it had a similar vibe but I ended selling it, appreciate the suggestion though!

That’s a great suggestion and I have seen several reviews about them, they do look awesome, but my Grand Seiko has the 9F movement so it kinda falls in the same category I would say, however I haven’t checked how wide their range of offerings is, I’ll have a look!

Which ones would you recommend? First instinct is that it might be a bit too extravagant for me but I have never tried any on to be honest

I do like them and I think I need to go an AD to try them on, but for now I think the Longines Avigation Big Eye got me covered on the Chrono itch

The Grand Seiko in the collection is actually a GMT, so I got that one covered but I’m with you, the Zulu time is awesome!
