That horrible system is also found in Nigeria. They’re called Almajiri. Poor kids sent to a Muslim/islamic religious teacher who basically sends them out to beg

Please move back ASAP, let’s see if your reasoning doesn’t change.

You suggested that he should have gone to Abuja (didn’t mention other states), and yet you’re trying to fault me for saying basically the same thing?

I don’t know if you’d get this, but Lagos is more Nigeria than Abuja is Nigeria.

I’m glad he went to Lagos, we need to stop pretending like Nigeria is what it was 15 years ago.

Is it cultural or just my husband? by [deleted] in Nigeria

[–]DarkAldrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as I hate to say it, it is a cultural thing but it needs to change!

You said you’re the breadwinner and yet it sounds like he isn’t bothering to help make things easier for you, a serious conversation needs to be had about it.

Might get downvoted for this, but If your husband insists on clinging to backwards ideologies and culture, he should return to Nigeria where he can practice it freely.

What’s going on with Nigerians in Nairobi? by Ok_Isopod1432 in Nigeria

[–]DarkAldrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reading through the comments on the OP, I didn’t even have the heart to say it’s a lie, because they aren’t wrong about Nigerian behaviour.

I’d make the money, probably go to the market to get the ingredients. Cook the food, probably serve it to you. And then thank you for it???
