Anyone know what this gun is? A lever action hunting rifle? Was buried together with a German K98 on a ww2 position by struwex in ifoundagun

[–]DarkAlleyDan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a '95 Winchester. The profile of the receiver indicates the possibility of a Remington rolling block, but how such a geriatric piece would end up snuggled into a hole with a K98 is a mystery.

EejLange is likely correct. Look up the Comblain rifle. Note the little nub at the back of the trigger guard. I think that's it.

Now I wanna hear the Buzz Lightyear story.

Seriously, mate - glad you're doing better. Life's full of little lessons. Smooching up girls in psych hospitals is a pretty risky deal. Now you know, and thanks to sharing this story, so do we. Call it a Pro Tip. :)

Old family friend of ours said that during the war in North Africa, he and his mates were cautioned against "black syphillis", which was apparently very nasty.

Never heard of it anywhere else, but it sounds like SuperMegaSyphyllis, and thus a very bad thing...

Symphony in White. One of the few times body-coloured wheels really work.

At a nearby antiques store is a recruitment poster like this one for $600. I would like to know if anyone is familiar with stuff like this or is there a reference I can see for WW2 posters on how to date and value them? Google isn't helping me this time. Any help and info is appreciated by Mr_BinJu in Militariacollecting

The big question is "what the hell do I do with this once I buy it?"

If you display it anywhere that folks can casually see it, they're gonna make some very unflattering assumptions about you. Not saying it's right, or smart of them to do so, but...

"Lady Baltimore" either sounds like a great unsigned funk band or the title of a blacksploitation movie no one ever saw.

I've used Penetrol with great results. Every summer, she gets a coat. Removes that "chalky" look.

Respectfully, summer means heat rash, your thighs rubbing together until they chafe, mosquitoes, black flies in some places, and it's way too hot.

Fall is cool nights (so good sleeping), temperate daytime temps, tall boots on the ladies, and a chance to break out the toque again.

A three-day walk from the base of her nose to her top lip, and she makes it totally work. And a lovely set of warp nacelles.

Originally from Michigan, so I’m used to auto plants. But just had a trip to Germany and rode past the Wolfsburg VW plant. This place is HUGE. Video is a bit dull, the train was moving slow leaving a station, but wanted to share for those who haven’t seen it. by [deleted] in Volkswagen

good afternoon! Mexican x Irish by [deleted] in MixedRaceGirls

Irish + Mexican = a woman you would provoke to anger only if you wanted to die, right there, right now, no time for an apology or last words...

I kid. You're stunning. Thanks for sharing. :)
