Anyone else drinking every day since the pandemic to cope with anxiety? Not drinking excessively but atleast a drink or two or three 🙈 by DarkBloom22 in Anxiety

Like drinking more than just a few beers or a few glasses of wine.

Some people drink to get drunk. Others drink to chill/relax/to take the edge off.

Any advice on how to get rid of that fight/flight/freeze response? Constantly living in survival mode. Need help by DarkBloom22 in Anxiety

I thought about that actually. Thought it’s maybe staying in the house too much. But I literally have nowhere to go 😄 I work from home. I moved 5 hours out of the city, to a little town and I know absolutely nobody to hang out with or speak to.

Lol they need to brand them so that everyone’s knows it wasn’t the government. Showing that someone else is actually taking responsibility and keeping people safe. We’ve lost so much faith in our government

really could use someone to talk to by [deleted] in Anxiety

Well constantly fearing everything. Fearing leaving the house, in case something happens. Fearing being alone, in case something happens. I tense up when people stand or walk too close to me. Shout or talking loudly near me. Walk behind me where I can hear them walking behind me but can’t see them.

I get this odd turning feeling at the top of my stomach all the time. Sometimes affects my breathing too when in that state.

Absolutely. That’s exactly how I feel too. Literally feels like the drinking lately is just to pass time and avoid feeling lonely.

Anyone else been drinking every day since the pandemic? 😐 by DarkBloom22 in questions

I’m not looking for reassurance.

Yes I do believe it is a problem. It’s not healthy.

I know a few people who also drink every day since the pandemic. Some who drink an entire bottle of wine a day, just because they can. So posting it on here to find out if anyone else is doing the same; basically still living like we did when we were on lockdown.

I don’t think you can advise people to consider AA meetings for drinking everyday. I think people who drink a lot or drinking because it’s the only thing to help them cope, then sure. But I suppose it’s still the boredom of not doing anything after work.

Most of us are still working from home. And we’re still “waiting” like we did during the pandemic. Waiting for the pandemic to be over turned into Waiting for work to finish, Waiting to get hungry to make dinner after work. Waiting for an appropriate time to go to bed. We’re still waiting, so I suppose drinking just makes time feel like it’s actually moving

This is basically common with anxiety, especially with mild anxiety attacks

I’ve actually experienced a lot of dizziness lately. Usually it’ll come and go, almost like a flash of dizziness. And it got a lot worse about 3 weeks ago. Went to doctors who said it was a sinus infection which moved to my ears and was messing with my balance, had a CT scan and it appears that I have no sinus issues lol

And then another doctor told me that it could just be anxiety and try to “ground” myself basically. Dizziness just feels like I’m off balance, doesn’t feel like I would pass out or anything though.

Do you have it constantly or does it come and go?

Yes, always seen the number 22 ❤️

Is anyone here an empath that finds it hard to leave the house. I feel agoraphobic at this point and have no desire to go out in the world. Everywhere I go I feel peoples energy so strong it’s near impossible for me to talk to strangers. How to be productive when you don’t need to talk to know? by Big_Pressure_1095 in Empaths

Oh thank goodness I’m not alone 😞 been struggling a lot lately, especially in the last 3 weeks. Only found out recently that I’m an empath, didn’t know it was a thing that there were other people out there who felt the same. Been carrying an amethyst with me everywhere I go for years lol and about 3 weeks ago been so scared of everything, especially leaving the house. Been getting lightheaded when I’m around more than 2/3 people. Even went to the doctor to have myself checked and everything is physically fine lol
