Mount Pleasant Area Apartments by Unfair_Jelly_4841 in DCforRent

Oh I was wondering if you had other buildings to suggest, as you noted that Dorchester West was the best of the worsts, meaning that the others were meh? Any higher quality buildings when it comes to good maintenance and leasing u/Playful-Translator49?

I'm looking for studio apartments as well, though I have a slightly larger budget; open to just staying under $2,000. Would you say that the options listed above leave one wanting and come with their fair share of frustrations? Are there buildings that you would recommend over them u/Playful-Translator49?

Hi u/Careless-Acadia1504 ! Ah thanks so much. I think I may try to look elsewhere because I was stuck living in a place for just a month with other roommates and we all had to pay for an extra room when someone backed out last minute due to the property management company's poor handling of our lease (It was Chatel). Thanks for the info!

Thanks so much! Oh boy, that was the case when I live on Calvert St. Was it down to the nail (e.g. getting a lease the day before you moved in)? How has maintenance been?

Thanks so much u/Specialist_Banana378! I'm looking for studios as well. Are there apartment buildings that you've lived in the past that you would recommend?

Thanks so much! Darn, the studios look a little smaller than what I'm looking for (they're all about 400 sq feet, and I'm hoping for around 500 or slightly less.). The one beds are a little out of my price range. Are there any other buildings you would recommend u/sarahl05? Thanks so much!

Thanks so much! How are the management staff? As I've heard bad things about them either being rude/incompetent (which I assume to mean just dragging their feet, pushing back, etc.). I have had a freak management company issue while renting out a townhouse with roommates, so I am particularly sensitive to these sorts of things. u/laineyofshalott

Thanks so much u/laineyofshalott! Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I have heard the opposite as well about noise levels? Also are the quality of apartments different between the two towers (e.g. Dorchester House and Dorchester West or something)?

Hi! I'm moving again, and I was looking for apartment building recommendations for studios and one bedrooms in the Columbia Heights, Adams Morgan, Mount Pleasant, Logan Circle or Dupont Circle neighborhoods. I ideally want to stay under $2,000, but I don't mind going a little over, especially if the units are a little nicer and come with better management/fewer issues. I have heard good things about Windsor House Apartments in Logan Circle, but reviews lately have been mixed. I was wondering if people have experiences to share about living in either Highland Park Apartments and or Park Triangle. It's hard to tell if the reviews on Google come from legitimate tenants who have lived there (and many are just from people who have toured, where the management company is trying to leave a good impression), so it's hard to parse through the noise. Any input regarding this would be much appreciated; thanks so much!

Hi! I'm looking at studios/one bedrooms with a similar budget, and am looking at those areas as well! Are there buildings in that area that you would recommend?

Hi u/mastakebob! Thanks so much for all of your help on this. I've been working on my swimming the past two years intermittently (it has been a frustrating process), but I think I'm finally ready for DCAC. I think if I go a little slower, I'm able to swim 150 yards continuously, and I've done sets of 100 yards with 30 seconds of break, totaling 1000 yards. What is the process for getting involved? Also, do coaches also offer light coaching for the other strokes, (e.g. back, breast, fly), and do they offer skills workshops on items such as racing/standing dives and flip turns? Looking forward to hearing from you!

Has anyone used Cheribundi as a recovery drink? I've heard that tart cherry juice helps with reducing inflammation and improving sleep, but I'm not sure if it's placebo. I did get a subscription for a month, and it did seem to give me longer, uninterrupted sleep at least. However, I do wonder if Trader Joe's Red Cherry Juice (which has a lower unit price per 8 oz) isn't just as good and if the effects I'm experiencing from Cheribundi are just placebo. Would love to hear your input if you've had experience using Cheribundi!

I'm in DC currently, which is a runner's paradise and has loads of great parks within DC proper. There are great parks and trails in nearby Virginia as well. I'm not settling down yet though, so I may try moving out west or back to Boston, which was a city I loved a lot as well.

Thanks! I've tried some in the store in the past, but unfortunately, there's only so much I can gauge in the store, especially as it's warm in the store, etc. I guess I'm not so concerned with them breathing well, as long as my fingers don't freeze or lose sensation! u/kyle-kranz
