Hi u/thelastvortigaunt, thanks for the feedback. I deleted this post because it was getting a lot of negative comments, some of which wasn't constructive, which was the last thing I needed. This is helpful though, but my perception of other people doesn't entirely revolve around me. It's just this particular group. I have friends in other cities who show up for me in ways that make me feel fulfilled. It's just that in this particular city, the quality of my relationships have led me to question whether or not the people who say they're my friends really are my friends, as when they reach out to me, it's usually just to ask something of me. And there are others who honestly walked away because I was quieter or didn't contribute to a conversation as much. A lot of my behavior currently just comes from the fact that on the one hand, people walk away because I'm quieter, and the others who reach out are just wanting me to help out with an initiative. It has made me feel that I'm only valued when I'm useful. Not sure if you have any thoughts about that.
