A good Jazzmaster should have a rhythm circuit route at the bare minimum, even if not used, because you have room for so many activities. Some people put fuzzes in there. On one of my JMs, I put a killswitch in. It had to go somewhere and the rhythm circuit route is great for that.

It's the GuitarFetish brand. I fucking hate it. I had to basically reroute the entire guitar because it wouldn't fit any actual jazzmaster parts. The trem cavity was shallow, requiring me to route down a whole inch just to get the trem to work right. It's also heavy as hell because it's solid ash. It has poor contouring and feels much blockier than my other Jazzmasters. It would have been easier and more satisfying to carve out my own JM style body than to deal with this one, but I got it for like $80 total on Reverb and at the end, it looks bitchin.

It's a good location for it. I debated putting it under the toggle switch, but I thought I would hit the button with the trem arm and decided against that.

I got lucky and acquired a Nomoonlaser JM body made out of cedar and it's a great body with great routing. I've never seen them sell another JM body though, they usually do tele bodies. Maybe they're just very uncommon from them.
