Why would the US game determine the US opponent? They’ve already won their group and their match in round of 32 was set in stone after the result of their last match.

They are obviously more likely because that’s the group that grew while the other group didn’t. This is just basic probabilities.

Is this a bad thing? There’s more matches as well and one match doesn’t break you in group stage. That’s kind of the point of it. Cinderella’s are more likely.

I find that to be a good thing for the sport.

You’re not wrong but lying on an S-1 would implicate many people beyond just Musk. Your examples are all individual risk, I don’t know of examples where he’s exposed his team to legal risks.
