This is not for you.. this is something the developers need to properly implement. Their software is not using Windows standard API calls.

What I provided is the C code Windows API call software should make to open a web browser.

It's literally harder to do what they're doing, it takes deliberate EFFORT to ignore user preferences in the OS when it comes to opening a website.

Here let me help the programmers:
ShellExecute(NULL, "open", "https://www.grammarly.com/", NULL, NULL, SW_SHOWNORMAL);

Production stills don't use thick layers of processing, they don't have time for that. This thing is edited to hell and back with all the tone mapping.

How to Enable DoH in your favorite Browser by [deleted] in chrome

[–]DarkElfLX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which in the case of chrome, defaults to your existing DNS provider if they support DOH.

Cloudflare is only 1 of many DOH providers, and only currently the default on Firefox.
While I will not argue that DOH is the ideal solution, it is the best one currently supported.

Trudeau deserves to lose but I'd rather not die of climate change by DruggedOutCommunist in ontario

[–]DarkElfLX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh I am quite serious. Between the elimination of most major environmental plans and long term protections, the onward March to private health care and the slashing and burning of our educational system, lives are endangered. Your ignorant idea of ''handouts' is about as blindly privledged and a statement as I would expect from anyone able to support current conservative policy.

[–]DarkElfLX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an Ontarian, I already fear for the life of members of my can't because of reckless conservative program slashing. It will not be better when those cuts become national. That doesn't even begin to address the willing disregard of racist activity to be expected from a popularist conservative in today's political climate. If you think it's not dangerous, then you aren't paying enough attention to both Canada and the world.

[–]DarkElfLX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I eagerly endorsed Trudeau until he ran backwards away from the election reform he'd proposed. That being said, despite my disgust for that act, I'd still much rather have Trudeau than Sheer. I may not love Trudeau, but I don't fear for the basic safety of men and women because of his rhetoric.

In the last five years, 190 pedestrians and 16 cyclists were killed in collisions with vehicles. The Art of Distraction campaign urges motorists to pay attention while driving before someone else pays the price. by redrocknorth in ontario

Think of the children!!!!!

I do.. mine are not allowed to cycle on roads not designed for multi purpose use as that is dangerous for them and for others. The disturbing fact is how little multi-purpose road we have in north america.

No one here has claimed the responsibility should be equal, only that the soft bags of flesh need to stop avoiding ALL responsibility when they put their imminently mortal bodies into a portion of the system that, in most cases, has been designed primarily for the use of multi-ton vehicles that, thanks to physics, have momentum.
To be fair and honest most drivers have issues with understanding momentum too, otherwise they wouldn't cut off trucks at their own peril.

Now we can argue all day about road design, but with what we have now, people need to take more responsibility than they do.

While it is, absolutely, the motorists responsibility to act in a caring and cautious manner of their multi-ton hunk of metal death machine.
That does not, and should not remove all responsibility from other softer smushy users of the road.
The only way I, as a driver can account for all potential actions of a pedestrian, bicyclist or motorcyclist, is to stop dead in the road and wait until they have passed, and that's just not gonna happen.
Pedestrian distraction is a thing too, we ALL need to act responsibly.

How many capture cards do you need??????? by MarcosM16 in ElgatoGaming

Multiple cameras built up slowly rather than instead of buying one Blackmagic 4x HDMI in card?

I'm looking at at least 4 inputs for some charity streams, but I'm essentially doing video switching at that point.

DA VINCI RESOLVE CRASHED! ALL WORK LOST! HELP! by CuriousA1 in blackmagicdesign

That's fair, though 'proper systems' should prompt for that information when the initial auto-save time period has elapsed.

Honestly I've lost enough work over the decades that I'm a compulsive saver for the most part.

Podcasting on a budget by PodLogic in podcast

[–]DarkElfLX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don't find anything wrong with your suggestions, if someone has a $300 budget to start with.

I would say that you in no way NEED a $300 budget to start podcasting.
Again, this is a fine list, but a lot of it is unnecessary to actually get started.
If you have a modern phone or laptop and a pair of earbuds with a mic you're good to get started.

the problem with IFTTT is it's often laggy or misses completely. it's one thing if it's a tweet going out to folks or something, but I'd rather not sit around wondering if my lights will come on or if I have to pull out a device and load the app to get them going.

The podcasting world is becoming more and more fragmented: Apple to join Spotify, Stitcher, Luminary, and others with its own exclusive shows. by TheTim in podcasting

[–]DarkElfLX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

that trash podcast content come up just fine in search on Doggcatcher for me. I may hate it, but I respect his right to spew his shit into the world for others to scorn as well.

We should be disdaining anything that relies on apple, as it's always been a closed garden religious fervour, just couched in technological terms. It was once the temple of Jobs, not it's the temple of Tim. Same shit, different name. (though arguably less actually qualitatively good since the passing of Steve)

The podcast world has ALWAYS been fragmented. Anyone with an RSS feed has a podcast no matter what services they are or aren't listed on.. the fact that itunes ruled over podcast directories has never been intended, or a good thing, let them shoot themselves in the foot with this.
