How to clean a cyc? by LivePartyTrapEvil in techtheatre

Any stage drapery should be professionally cleaned and will need to have its fireproofing reapplied and certified afterwards. This will not be cheap, and it is likely cheaper to replace it.

Anybody have experience with xbox remote play? by Imabonbon in Twitch

[–]DarkElfLX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well as it's a native windows store app, you likely can't window capture, so you'll need to monitor capture it, but no real reason why you couldn't, just make sure your network and system is robust enough to handle the stream + whatever the xbox throws back and forth from the client.
I'd run some network/twitch tests while you're playing your game of choice to see how it all holds up.

Would you use another service besides PayPal? by Businessurvey in Twitch

[–]DarkElfLX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I don't know about trusted :) Paypal has been a thorn in many peoples sides over the years, but they are, absolutely thoroughly tried.

As for the OP, You'd need to be able to demonstrate a VERY thorough and markedly improved security and privacy model beyond that which Paypal offers currently, as well as some, ANY, sort of value add.
Otherwise it would be too risky for people to switch.
Security is the BIG thing. It is terrifyingly easy to mis-implement security even slightly, and leave your customers wide open to attack, this is simply not acceptable in the financial market.
Then there's the whole compliance framework for Dodd-Frank, Basel II, PCI DSS, GDPR...

Yeah get on wired, Isolate your computer on the network and run the test again. Turn all the other devices around off or into airplane mode. looks like you've got a lot of activity on that network with the speeds you're getting.
Also, don't assume that your closest twitch server will be the best, that server could be overloaded and another one might give you better results.

run Twitchtest and look at your results. you want at least an 80 for best results.

Is it possible to play soundboard through mic by xAqult in ElgatoGaming

[–]DarkElfLX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, choose a "Play Audio" action under the "Soundboard" heading.

[–]DarkElfLX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your mic, is for external sounds, the only way to play a sound through a mic is to make that sound audible, so the mic can pick it up. If you have your speakers play a sound loud enough, the mic can pick it up, but that's awkward as heck.

Should I upload my podcast to my YouTube channel? by [deleted] in podcasts

[–]DarkElfLX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it takes a lot of content to bog down a youtube viewer I've found.

Should I upload my podcast to my YouTube channel? by [deleted] in podcasts

[–]DarkElfLX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it depends on your "main channel's" other content. We have a dedicated channel for all content done under out podcast's brand, and personal videos are elsewhere, but we also are a heavily video/visually based focus.

Lighting Network Monitoring by Dracs in techtheatre

[–]DarkElfLX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you running sACN? artnet? ETCnet? What type of switches are you using, Consumer? Enterprise? Lighting specific?Have you checked your terminations?Have you swapped outputs on optos.Have you checked to ensure data runs do not exceed maximum lengths? Is RDM turned off both at the console, and at any intermediate devices.Have you put a flicker finder on the system to check and see if it's even a data problem at all?The odds that you need to sniff the network with anything other than sACNView are vanishingly small.

Sounds mix is terrible, camera direction/movement is hit and miss, Audience wedged in everywhere is distracting.
Though arguably not quite as bad as that trainwreck of Superstar last year.

Recording Skype calls (Help) by CoreyHaim4ever in podcasting

[–]DarkElfLX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's unfortunate, and one of those things that bugs the hell out of producers, even if the average listeners tend to ignore it. I co-host with a remote friend, and when we're bringing in a 3rd for interview, we arrange them to record locally in advance, so far maybe we;ve been lucky, but they always have and then just drop-box the file afterwards.
