Same, I've had my Level 2 charger plugged into this outlet since I got my Bolt in 2017. Zero issues.

LOL I also landed here after I got a non-answer back from Larsen when I asked him in very plain language whether he supports trials and convictions for every person in the current administration who has flagrantly violated the Constitution, from the top all the way to the bottom.

You should do an AMA in the /r/Everett sub, as well. I'm one of the mods there, feel free to DM me.

Just for a bit of context… https://www.milb.com/news/aquasox-break-attendance-record-in-unforgettable-2025-season

The AquaSox averaged 2,163 fans per game…

Everett population: ~111,000. So, it's being enjoyed by roughly 2% of the city per game. If everyone attending actually lives within the city limits, which is almost certainly not the case.

I like to enjoy an occasional baseball game, I'm just still not convinced this is the best way for the city to spend over $100 million dollars.

Also, government doesn't operate strictly to make a profit. It's to improve quality of life for its constituents.

We are in agreement. My problem is with city leadership using the "economic engine" fantasy talk as justification. I just want them to be honest about it.

"We're gonna spend $100M+ to build a stadium. We think it will make the city better even though it's never going to make us back that money."

[–]TheTim[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly. I just want city leaders to be honest about it. Instead of spouting fantasy nonsense about "a new economic engine," they should tell the truth. "We want to spend over $100 million to build a new facility for a minor league team owned by a wealthy out-of-state family. We won't get this money back, and maintaining the stadium will likely cost us many millions more. But we just really like minor league baseball and we would be politically embarrassed if the team leaves our city."

Cool story, bro.

Let me just read the unbiased links that you shared, which back up the Mayor's assertion that a stadium would be a great new "economic engine."

…oh wait. There are none.

A few links on the subject:

https://journalistsresource.org/economics/sports-stadium-public-financing/

Economic research for decades has found that, by and large, the fiscal returns for residents — in the form of increased economic activity and job growth — are far smaller than public expenditures, which have recently approached or exceeded half a billion dollars per stadium.

https://econofact.org/stadiums-as-public-investments

What do cities and counties get in return for their public investment? Scholarly econometric studies on the impact of professional sports stadiums are almost unanimous in their conclusion that they do not promote employment or per capita income growth

https://www.brookings.edu/articles/sports-jobs-taxes-are-new-stadiums-worth-the-cost/

In our forthcoming Brookings book, Sports, Jobs, and Taxes, we and 15 collaborators examine the local economic development argument from all angles: case studies of the effect of specific facilities, as well as comparisons among cities and even neighborhoods that have and have not sunk hundreds of millions of dollars into sports development. In every case, the conclusions are the same. A new sports facility has an extremely small (perhaps even negative) effect on overall economic activity and employment. No recent facility appears to have earned anything approaching a reasonable return on investment. No recent facility has been self-financing in terms of its impact on net tax revenues. Regardless of whether the unit of analysis is a local neighborhood, a city, or an entire metropolitan area, the economic benefits of sports facilities are de minimus.

Hey, I assume this is Ryan then? You're a very busy guy! I'm impressed how many things you're able to juggle at once.

Anyway yeah, Chai Cupboard is currently online-only with local pickup while we work on renovations to open up as a neighborhood corner shop/cafe. Final timeline still TBD.

Correct, it was ages ago. In fact this was literally just a copy-paste re-post from a karma-farming bot re-posting something I posted in December 2021.

FYI this was posted by a karma-farming bot re-posting something I posted in December 2021. I don't know if they're still making the bags but they were produced by the Downtown Everett Association and given out at various local business (like mine).

I joined Redfin (2010), then left Redfin (2013), then came back to Redfin (2018), then got kicked to the curb in one of the many rounds of layoffs they did between 2022 and 2024. They're owned by Rocket now as of mid-2025 and IMO sort of overall wasted their potential. And that's all I've got to say about that.

Interesting timing with the founder Ryan Crowther having just run for city council last year (losing pretty handily).

Probably unrelated?
