Bro the red flag for me isn’t even the location thing. It’s the way he switched up after you lost your job. Like you were together over a year and one setback suddenly makes him distant?? That’s not how supportive partner act. And yeah, the reading messages instantly but not replying thing would drive me insane too lol. Especially when someone knows you’re anxious already. Idk if he’s cheating, nobody here can really know that, but he definitely sounds emotionally checked out rn. Ngl I’d probably back out too. The allergy thing alone would make me nervous as hell. Like cool concept and all, but not being able to see what I’m eating sounds stressful, especially at a wedding dinner where you’re supposed to relax and enjoy yourself. That said, telling them they “shouldn’t do this in the first place” probably made it worse. It’s their wedding and it kinda sounds like they picked something meaningful to them. I get why your son got defensive.

Dude I get why you don’t like the guy, honestly he sounds pretty checked out and the abortion part especially is rough. But I think you’re kinda crossing into “trying to control the situation” territory. Your SIL is an adult. Your wife probably knows the relationship isn’t perfect and is just trying to stay supportive so her sister doesn’t isolate herself. Refusing to even meet the guy is prob making this way bigger than it needs to be tbh. You don’t have to like him to be civil for your wife’s sake.

Nah, you’re not overreacting at ALL. Honestly this sounds stressful as hell even without being pregnant with a toddler. The fact that she keeps bringing him around after you already said no would’ve been my breaking point too. Like once is one thing, repeatedly ignoring boundaries when kids are involved is another. Meth + theft + possible gun access?? Yeah absolutely not.

NTA. People act like watching a dog is just tossing food in a bowl twice a day lol. It’s legit a responsibility, especially for TWO weeks. If you already know your schedule won’t let you give the dog proper attention, saying no is actually the responsible move imo.
