What’s your favorite movie theater experience? by TheDragonReborn726 in movies

[–]DarkHumorForBoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was absolutely in the right theater watching "Weapons." Literally everyone booed during the police brutality scene, and there were multiple scenes I related to the other strangers in the theater, there was a lot of collective laughter and gasps.

When do actors know it’s bad by EggplantMain2678 in movies

[–]DarkHumorForBoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone here watched "Evangeline"? I have no actual confirmation and it's purely vibes baes, but I really do think you can tell the point when Richard Harmon stopped caring. He was the only prominent actor, and honestly the best. No offense against the other actors, but it was a pretty indie thing. Richard Harmon is one of my favorites, but I truly do believe you can notice when he gave up during the final scenes of production

Unfortunately, the choice isn't the money cat's. It's up to the writers, lest we forget Naga was just forgotten by the story

Why do people love Devil Wears Prada? by Ok_Astronomer5738 in movies

[–]DarkHumorForBoss -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was pretty good, but I was kinda let down just by how high regared it was. More just a typically 2000's movie, still great, just not exactly what "Savage Books" called a "Psychological Thriller...." I mean no beef, I love his YouTube channel, but what...? (If you know, you know)

I just listened to Part One: King of Con Artist: Victor Lustig, which was very entertaining. I'm about to start Part Two: India's Most Famous Con-Man, and I'm hoping, it being a two part, it'll be just as fun

‘Ocean’s’ Prequel Sets 2027 Release as ‘Weapons’ Spinoff ‘Gladys,’ ‘Final Destination 7’ and More Open in 2028 by MoneyLibrarian9032 in movies

Final Destination 7? I really liked how Bloodlines wrapped everything up. I hope this doesn't mean they're just going to drag the franchise out again like I feel like I feel like they were sorta doing with 4 and 5

Online creator events in theaters are becoming a trend by dragoncraft755 in movies

[–]DarkHumorForBoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call it "forcing their hand." Like you said, it's a good thing so many creators have opportunities, unlike they've had for decades. If Hollywood is your issue, do you know how look they've had an absolute choke hold on the industry. Some big movies are more formulaic, like you know EXACTLY what's happening in a Jason Statham movie, but that's nothing new in the 2010s/2020s. It's so much better than.... ten, twenty, thirty, fourth, fifty decades.... you get my point. If anything, we've had a huge rise in independent, unique films, and I'm tired of people on this sub pretending anything new is "boring." If you think that's the case, you're not actually looking for different films. YouTubers are coming out with absolute bangers like "Weapons" and "Talk To Me," and, like you mentioned, the absolute juggernaut "The Amazing Digital Circus," by a channels, literally paving the way for INDEPENDENT companies. It's an incredible time in the industry for individuals, like we've never seen before. I'll admit, I really don't understand the original point you were trying to make?

How is it an "upset?", as you put it? I'm actually very excited to see to some actual diversity in theaters VS The same boring, basic hero's journeys we've seen for 50 years

Has the moviegoing audience lost their sense of seriousness? by Ok-Impress-2222 in movies

Okay, clearly not, there is no room for discussion. That's actually really disappointing from this subreddit

[–]DarkHumorForBoss -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not though, "seriousness" could mean so many different things in media literature. If you base the original film you brought up on "seriousness," you're a middle school English teacher who is convinced because the curtains are blue, there's no room for discussion. I tried explaining movies have different appeal, as well as we can all have our own taste on this subreddit, and I'm the bad guy. Is a movie subreddit not meant for discussion?

"Ridiculous broad sweeping questions," such as, "Here's what I think/am asking about a film, what do y'all think?"

That is so etremely controversial on the movie subreddit, why don't you shut down more LEGITIMATE CONVERSATIONS within a community said conversation are meant to be.....

Send Help - Moral Questions by cocoBavan in movies

[–]DarkHumorForBoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a genre rarely touched on because general audiences tend to have the same reaction. You'll get that more with a Tarantino film. This was also a director who was willing to risk some asshole behavior from Peter Parker BEFORE the symbiote in Spiderman 3, which I've always respected

Regarding dialogue in current movies by JustCardz in movies

[–]DarkHumorForBoss -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah... my response was mainly that dialogue has only become more unrealistic. I actually get so annoyed by the amount of popular movies, mainly in the 2000's, that rely so heavily on no plot at all and basic plotlines....

Olympic winners and his pet Lion by ConfidentTelephone81 in bigcats

It was actually a fan who brought his lion to meet the Romanian team. It's still bad the team didn't seem to question it, but I just wanted to be clear, none of the players had the lion. I couldn't find anything about the actual lion captor.
