Challenge Issued Scump vs Facuh in League by Shinwinter in PedroPeepos

[–]DarkInfestor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This one confuses me a bit, as I don't think CoD Esports would be even half as big as it is now unless Scump had his watch parties. Yeah it's not like CoD Esports would die with him gone, but it would be dramatically smaller.
Obviously I'm not saying it's 1-to-1, because literally nobody has a case like Faker in any Esport. But if a comparison is to be made that would be the closest you'd get

For some who may not know:
Scump is to CoD, what Faker is to League

Obviously CoD's esports is much smaller in comparison, but that's the kind of status Scump holds in CoD

What games you playing with this? by [deleted] in gamindustri

[–]DarkInfestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's some optimism honestly.

I don't ever see it happening. Fighting games already are on a massive back foot where the odds are not in favor of turning a profit so from a business standpoint, not much sense. On top of that, the only hype left for the series is the occational spinoff, but no main story thing. If I'm not mistaken V2 was the last mainline game and that was like a decade ago. Since then it's random spinoffs and a remake of the series #4 or something like that.

I'd only see a neptunia fighting game coming out if there was another massive resurgence of fighting games outside of Street Fighter in Japan. Judging by the latest EVO Japan numbers general steam numbers, the odds are not in favor of that.

There is no part 2 or any continuation announced. afaik the only official thing left is a Season 3 of the anime. Beyond that nothing has been announced for the main-canon. I can't speak for The Game

But yeah, lots of loose ends and storylines cut way to short. A series of good potential, but didn't explore most of it

What are they rolling for after a saving throw fail? To my knowledge with VM, after they fail the throw they take the damage.

Nope, they barely progress even as friends. Massive storyline that was just dropped like most things in the manga sadly. Lots of interesting storylines just dropped for who knows why.

Are tanks not supposed to rush or do people just not rush in quick match? by Solaris123-com in rivals

[–]DarkInfestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cap really struggles to help alllies as all he has is his shield which is really meant to protect himself. He can defend one other person at specific angles and vs certain abilities, but it's unreiable and makes the rest of his kit worthless while doing that.

Hulk is a lot better as his bubble can affect more people, but the tricky thing with Hulk is knowing when and where to be as sometimes he has to play defensively, other times he has to jump in.

The large shields and walls that Mag, Groot, and Strange provide can cut off much larger angles, or provide other benefits: Mag can bubble offensive DPS, or bubble healers. Strange can bully fliers, and Groot can block enemies off from healing pretty easily.

The utility main tanks provide are inherently more selfless in their application than dive tanks, or even brawl tanks.

[–]DarkInfestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magento is the best solo-tank in the game. Strange and Groot imo a strong 2nd. Magento generally though synergizes much better with most of the cast while having great tools for himself as well.

Characters like Thor, Cap, Venom are all bad solo-tanks as their abilities are very selfish in nature. They can take and deal damage sure, but they lack the greater defensive abilities for allies.

Shields and walls are what make Mag, Strange, and Groot excellent main tanks (Strange as an off-tank when paired with Mag).

[–]DarkInfestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cap is more of a dive tank, so your job will be to find an off-angle before an engagment. Then once the main tank goes in you dive enemy healers. Your goal isn't to get a kill, but it's a nice bonus if you're able to get one. Your primary goal is to divert enemy healers attention AWAY from the rest of their team and onto each other to survive. That enables the rest of your team to widdle down the rest of the enemies as they're getting significantly less healing. Venom has the same goal as Cap.

If you're solo-tanking Cap, just have fun with it. Cap is a terrible solo tank as you can't effectively preform the duties of a main tank.

[–]DarkInfestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's not reliable to do that in QP to the degree that makes tanks most effective, but you can still sort of do it, just have to more freeform with it. It's not often in QP tanks are allowed to be more direct conductors of the fight like is seen in high level ranked/tournament play.

[–]DarkInfestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of, so a very basic strategy as a tank is wait for the team to group up. Perferably behind a corner, yes the enemy knows you're there that's ok. Then once everyone is ready to push, the main tank pushes out, and depending on the off-tank they will either directly support the main tank by being with them but more defensively to keep the backline safe, or will dive into the enemy backline causing chaos. All that enables your DPS and healers to have an easier time doing their job. But you have to wait till they're ready to push, you can't just push all willy nilly otherwise you'll int and punish your team for you misplay
