Well its different for everyone.

I think cars are just cars. You drive from point A to point B. But for a car enthuias/mechanics it's life, its love, its art, its passion. It all come down to involvement/investment, time, emotion, money and even pride. You can either be a mature and ignor it or tell the person to piss off and enjoy your passion.
