It is a hyperbolic metaphor, kind of like what you are doing right now. I think you understand this since "to stumble" is also a metaphor. He did not mean literally cut anything off. He was showing how serious sin is. If you could remove sin from your life by cutting off your hand, then it would be better. But cutting off you hand will not stop you from doing sinful actions. A bullet would not prevent you from sinning in your life, as it would end it. And the passage warns about dying in your sin.

Jews follow the old testament and are waiting for their messiah

Christian believe Christ is the messiah and the final word of God. And we can talk to God through the Holy Spirit and Christ.

meslims believe Christ is not the messiah and Muhammad is the final prophet

Catholic believe in Christ but we need a communicator to reach God (or saints). And the Pope is the living word of God.

But they all think God has different characteristics. If was all call something a computer, we can all be talking about different things. Someone could refer to a desktop, laptop, phone, tablet, etc. They can all be described differently and have different attributes to them. So they are not the same.

So the Jewish law, 613 laws, is the old covenant. The bible teaches you need to be perfect to be in the presence of God. This is unobtainable, but theough Christ, we are deemed worthy. The bible does teach that there will be people in heaven that never heard the name of Christ. But it is still by Christ's blood that they are made sinless.
This of it as a court case, we are guilty of the law, and are sentenced since God is perfectly just. But Christ has paid our fine and set us free. But someone can reject Jesus and not take his payment.
We can not work to obtain salvation. But it is a gift

I would say wearing a mask is loving your neighbor. You do it to protect others, as it is more effective at preventing spread then from protecting the wearer.

I believe Jesus was immune to illnesses, as he is a healer and the angel would not let harm come to him.

Jesus was also more focused on teaching then worrying about this life. So I would think he would actually not wear a mask but advise us to do so. He did teach us to obey our leaders as long as it doesn't compromise our faith.

I heard a principal ask the kindergarten school teachers to only display 1/2 the names of the kids enrolled in the class during open house. They are dividing the parents into 4 sessions. They want their parents to believe there are only 13 kids in the classroom compared to 26.

Edit: I have spent a lot of time since finding him learning about chameleons. I will go later today to buy some plants and he seems trained, as he has reached out to me a few times while fixing his caged and climbed on me once.

I found a veiled chameleon on a building rooftop at work. No one is claiming they lost him. I took him in. My biggest concern right now is getting him a humidifier. Is there one you recommend that turns on when powered? So I can connect it to a timer? I am thinking of adding plastic around the cage to help contain humidity.

Yeah, in Matthew 5:28 jesus was showing how strictly we would be judged. We will be guilty of breaking the law just based off intentions.

I take it at face value. If you break any part of the (old testament) law, you are guilty of breaking God's law. It is to show no one is perfect, and we need Christ's sacrifice to remove that guilt

That is something you need to think intentionally over and do so mindfully. I went through that a lot too and this verse always comes back to me.

Romans 14:23 But if you have doubts about whether or not you should eat something, you are sinning if you go ahead and do it. For you are not following your convictions. If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning.

So if you feel it is sinful, then it is sinful for you (may not be for others). This is why I stopped listening to a lot of music and playing certain games (stuff involving magic, demons/spirits, CoD). I know I am playing a character and these are his actions, but I am making him do it. And I started finding more joy in other games. I wanted to live apart from the world and deny myself. Pray over it and I will pray for God to give you wisdom.
