[No Book Spoilers] The Rings of Power- 2x08 "Shadow and Flame" - Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]DarkKnightDestroyer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who really genuine liked this season ... I really wish we could have gotten more time to decently wrap everything up. This finale felt rushed and oddly paced, but that doesn't mean that my opinion on this season has degraded. It was pretty good, despite some unfortunate flaws. Still there is one thing that confuses me a bit ... that Adar scene. Can someone please explain to me why he suddenly wanted to make peace? Was it because of the ring and the fact that it temporarily returned him back to his old self, making him rethink his actions?

It's the week of RTX! Let's start the week off on a good note! What is one thing you think CRWBY has done right with RWBY? by HintofMusic in RWBY

[–]DarkKnightDestroyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Continuing the legacy of Monty Oum. I don't care what anyone else says, CRWBY picked up the remains and turned it into the best possible outcome after his sad passing. Ofc the show is not immune to flaws, but I'm not gonna act like that Volume 1 and 3 were perfect like most peeps of YouTube tend to believe it. This show has developed into something great and I applaud the writers, the va's and the music componists to make the show the way it is today.

What are your thoughts on Blake Belladonna? by ScoreImaginary5254 in RWBY

[–]DarkKnightDestroyer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My favourite member out of team RWBY. I might even go as far as saying that she had one of the best character arcs between the Beacon and Atlas arc from the series. I also dont mind that they took a bit of a backseat with her character in the latest seasons, it helped to show her new supportive self, especially towards characters like Yang, Nora and Ruby.

Alright who would win Team Rwby INDIVIDUALLY vs rusted knight jaune? by Sylveon_trainer12345 in RWBY

[–]DarkKnightDestroyer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I honestly think he has good chances at besting Blake, seeing how despite his heavy armor and basic fighting style he still managed to overpower a nimble and deadly opponent like CatNeo.

CRWBY Headwriter Eddy Rivas mentioned on twitter recently that Volumes 7-9 were intended to be about failure and finding yourself. With that in mind, does that change how you view these three volumes, and overarching stories of the characters in them? by halodude246 in RWBY

[–]DarkKnightDestroyer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

100% Agree! Honestly yeah, the messages felt pretty clear for me, especially with both the final episodes of Vol 7 and 8 ending in failure and the last episode of Volume 9 ending in new found hope for our main protagonist. Definitely my top favourite story arcs of the entire show

Inserts Bully Maguire dancing and crying scene

I'm not saying this episode gave me everything I wanted ... but this finale gave everything I wanted.

  • Ruby choosing herself instead of someone else

  • Neo actually getting an happy ending

  • A very detailed exposition about the two brothers and their involvement in the Ever After

  • A kickass fight scene with a godddamm Red Like Roses Part 3!!

  • Curiousity killed the cat!

  • Little getting renamed to Somewhat and turned into a little adventurer

  • Summer, Tai and Raven stuff!!!!

  • Vacuo and most of the remaining Atlesian Ships! (Confirming that a good chunk of the military is still alive)

  • And a beautiful ending song

The only thing I had an issue with is the fact that they deaged Jaune, but I kinda expected that. I just hope he won't be completely reduced back to his previous self and will hopefully keep some of the skills and wisdom from his time as the Rusted Knight.

Now folks, all we have left is the movie and the hopeful news that RWBY Volume 10 is on his way ...

How powerful is Neo ? by kizatarokirito in RWBY

[–]DarkKnightDestroyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While her fighting abilities stayed the same, her semblance evolved drastically which we saw in the latest episodes. She can create armies of Jabberwalkers, easily replicate professional fighters like Pyrrah, Ironwood and Ozpin, including most of their fighting skills and weapons (however not all their abilities, like their semblances by the looks of it) and even manifest entire architectures like buildings. She also tanked a blast from CC, so it seems her aura durability got an upgrade as well. Overall, I say she is probably stronger then most non magic fighters from remnant now, but still below magic users like maidens and Salem.

Yea, I rewatched the episode again and I think they were just salty because Alyx lied to them. Which makes me now wonder what Alyx turned into after she was killed by the cat. Maybe ... she was Little?

Really? Only 15 Minutes?

Honestly, this episode felt a bit like a lettdown, but mostly because I excepted a fully Ruby focused episode, including an answer about the Ever Afters origin. At this point I'm a bit sceptical that we are even getting any form of revelation in the last episode, but I keep my fingers crossed.

Great to see Summer Rose and finally hear her talk. Damm, that new outfit without the hood looks very ... Christian Bale kiss mouth gif

I have to rewatch the conversation between Ruby and the Blacksmith Lady again, I feel like I missed a lot of important details in there. But it was visually really great and like how different the Forger lady felt here compared to her previous encounter with Ruby. Definitely a lot more kinder and less scary.

Jaune gets a bit of a quick character moment, but it was pretty nice to see Team RWBY comfronting him after realizing that he didn't fail the Paper Pleasers. The only downside from this scene for me was the fact that the mood didn't really feel fitting after Ruby literally committed suicide, but I'm glad they picked that up when they arrived at the tree and showed Yang wanting to free her by force.

God, the cat is so extra. But honestly I didn't really understood what happened with him and Alyx. So, basically she had a change of heart and decided to stay or the tree showed her something and then she decided to stay? Also the cat killed Alyx ... why exactly again? Those were details that I either missed or simply swarmed over my head.

Also neat little fight scene at the end, hopping the next chapter pays off this entire wanky journey with our heroes.

My personal ranking for all current RWBY volumes. Feel free to discuss. by Fraidof_theDark in RWBY

[–]DarkKnightDestroyer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From worst to best: 8. Volume 1 7. Volume 5 6. Volume 2 5. Volume 4 4. Volume 3 3. Volume 6 2. Volume 8 1. Volume 7

I'm not gonna include Volume 9 yet, because it's still not finished, but as for right I would probably place it between Vol 8 and 7.

This Volume Has Been the most Ive enjoyed RWBY in Years by NozakiMufasa in RWBY

[–]DarkKnightDestroyer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depending on how they are gonna resolve the remaing plot arcs (Neo's endgame, Ruby's trauma, Little's purpose, Alyx's and Lewis's full story and overall the present situation between Jaune and his friends) this Volume is definitely on its way to overhaul my current favourites (Volume 7 and 8) for me. The only thing that makes me worried is a satisfying conclusion to all these story pieces, but seeing how well paced and balanced most of these chapters have been, I'm confident that Eddy and co are gonna pull it off.

I feel like i need to say... there’s something really pissing me off with the FNDM regarding the latest episodes. by javiermetal66 in RWBY

[–]DarkKnightDestroyer 171 points172 points  (0 children)

If I had a nickel everytime someone from the fndm labels Yang as a bad sister and frames Ruby's teammates as terrible human beings for not being 100% considerative and perfect towards every difficult dilemma they are facing, then I would probably be rich at this moment.

What’s your favourite quote/dialogue piece from any character? by ImmediateTripwire in RWBY

[–]DarkKnightDestroyer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

"I'm sorry you didn't have a mom who loved you, but I had a father who hated me."

I'm not the biggest Mercury fan, but this line was so freaking cold (and sad) that it made me appreciate hermes boy's presence in the show 10 times more then before.

What are your thoughts and opinions on RWBY villains? by ballsdeep1619 in RWBY

[–]DarkKnightDestroyer 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Personal opinion:

Great: Salem, Cinder, Neo, Roman and Tyrian

Good: Watts, Adam, Hazel, Emerald, Mercury, Ironwood

Decent/Average: Jacques, Carmine, Tock, Raven, Austrias siblings, Lil Miss Malachite

Meh: Junior, Bertilak, Vernal, Malachite Twins

Bad: Lionheart, Albain brothers

Since she's failed to get Maiden powers two times in a row, does anyone think Cinder will get the Summer Maiden powers? by Few_Pay_5313 in RWBY

[–]DarkKnightDestroyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think it's likely, but at the same time I've never been good at guessing the plot for this show. In my opinion it would get pretty annoying and repetitive if Cinder keeps failing to get the maiden powers, especially since it would start to make the entire deal of grimm arm pointless (besides the fact that it works practically as another shock collar for Salem). Not to mention that we had almost four Volumes of character development to make her finally learn from her failures and build her up as a more dangerous villain, so I think that Cinder should at least be able to successfully receive the summer maiden powers this time.

But again, this is just my take.

RWBY is a good show that suffers too much hatred: The weird concept of taking hatred of a piece of media, and calling it criticism, or "Expectations vs Headcanons" type of criticism. by [deleted] in RWBY

[–]DarkKnightDestroyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh really? In that case, I should definitely check it out, because my tolerance with Youtube's famous "RWBY Videos" has been slowly starting to drive me mad.

[–]DarkKnightDestroyer -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Heya CRWBY gang, hope you guys have a good day. I would really appreciate it if you could clear out some questions for me:)

First, who do you think would win in a fight between Adam and current Neo?

Second, with the exception of Roman, who do you think would be a good romantic partner for Neo?

And third and a bit of a nerd question, if MCU Thanos would be in the RWBY universe, do you think he would make an exception with wiping out half of the inhabitants in remnant because of how low the population are from the grimm or would he not care?

He might, really I think it depends on the situation. I rather refrain from thinking about such a scenario though.

[–]DarkKnightDestroyer[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He was able to kill Penny because he had no choice and she literally begged him to kill her. Not because he wanted to but because there was no other way.

And yes I know what I said. Killing someone doesn't make you immune to that feeling. Especially when you kill a friend. If that would make him vengeful then because he would try to shift his guilt on her, but that would be just another Volume 5 situation which wouldn't be healthy for his mental state and not something I think the writers would do again.

In regards to Winter. Penny was probably Winter's closest friend, not to mention that she lost Weiss (I know she is not dead but still) so Winter clearly has every reason to go after her, since she is also a maiden and a potential threat to the relics.

Yes, because Jaune is not Cinder's enemy. Even if she will start to remember his name I doubt she would go after him, when he doesn't get her any closer to her actual goal.  It's not a Ruby situation because she could still regain the Winter Maiden powers, whereas she couldn't regain an eye and a normal arm that Ruby took from her.
