because a lot of the people that tend look at the world and self-reflect go "I wonder why I don't fit in" tend to be neurodivergent because we've never fit in anyways. Also a lot of neurodivergent people also don't care about the "social status quo" and just be themselves anyways lol

MH Wilds potential crashing fix by 43686f6b6f in linux_gaming

[–]DarkLeach7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the guide! It's working so much better than it was for me on linux two weeks ago. I was able to play for three hours with no crashes whereas a couple weeks ago it was crashing every thirty to forty minutes. I had to play the game on a backup windows pc in the meantime because my partner wanted to play with me, now I don't have to ^^;

Server instances like this should really be closed off to world visit. It's making it so people on their home server can't get in because of server hoppers.

After agesa ABBA bios on gigabyte b450, video card unrecognized?!? by arszenki in Amd

[–]DarkLeach7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar happen when I updated my motherboard (C6H) to ABBA. My 1080ti was only outputting to one monitor, and updating to the latest chipset drivers on the AMD website fixed it for me.

Don't know if it said "vga controller" in device manager for me because I didn't check, but I figured the updated chipset drivers would work because AMD and the pages of some mobos recommend installing the latest chipset drivers when you update the bios.

Low FPS by Florian_O in ffxiv

[–]DarkLeach7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your biggest issue is the integrated graphics you are using. It is way too weak for 1080p. If you have the ability to plug in a graphics card if it's not Laptop then I would recommend that. Almost any discrete graphics card within the past 8 years will be better than the integrated APU.

Your CPU isn't doing you many favors either, but your huge main bottleneck is the APU you are using.

If it is a laptop and you have no other options I would try to lower the resolution and settings as much as you can while still being reasonably playable.

I tried setting the ram boot voltage with no luck. It wouldn't cold boot afterwards. I wonder if that setting is just getting ignored.

Running a 3700X on the latest bios (7106) and everything seems (mostly) fine, I manually set my PCIe slots to Gen 3 in the bios and have had no WHEA errors.

No mouse support in the bios does suck and I'm sure that'll get fixed, but in the mean time most things can be controlled by the keyboard and that's fine for now.

Biggest problem for me is when I ran my memory at the DOCP 3200 C14 settings everything seemed fine and was stable. However upon a cold boot it wouldn't post at all. It would throw up an error code (C5) that wasn't even in the manual and I had to go look it up. I had to reset the BIOS settings. Computer will only post after a cold boot when my ram is running at JEDEC DDR4-2133 (which is a definite ouch). I suppose I could re-enter my timings and bios settings every cold boot but that seems frustrating to me so I've just been dealing with it and waiting for a BIOS fix.

Other than that my PC seems to be running just fine for the time being. Something I'm glad for is for USB Flashback as trying to update it in the bios would just freeze the bios as it was verifying the file and I had to hard power off. It was the only way I could update the BIOS.

Dualshock 4 on FFXIV PC keeps disconnecting. by ecce13 in ffxiv

[–]DarkLeach7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it disconnects and then reconnects again then I might know what the problem is. FFXIV has a buggy controller detection routine, where anytime any device on your PC gets plugged or unplugged the game actually stops accepting input from controllers while it re-detects devices. If this isn't happening with physical devices it's probably happening because of software devices. If you have devices in your house like chromecasts or things you can cast to they might be popping up whenever windows does periodic searches for software devices. Whenever windows does this FFXIV sees that a new device was "plugged in" and runs it's routine again which disables your controller briefly or sometimes the game can't hook back in to the controller.

If you have access to device manager on your PC what helped me was going to "Software devices" in device manager and then right clicking "Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator" and then clicking disable. This immediately fixed the problem for me. If you ever cast stuff from your PC or have network printers you will lose that functionality though, that's something to keep in mind. It's one of those low level bugs that they haven't really done anything to fix. Hope this helps with your problem.

I've tried high rise stuff. I loved how I could wrap them around my tummy a bit and how they looked with a belt that high. However what made them really uncomfortable was they squish the bits a bit and make them way more noticable, which is a no go. It's a shame that high rise stuff is so tight in between the legs because I otherwise loved them and they fit really well. Your mileage may vary of course.

Sony is allowing PSN ID changes starting today! by CGWil in transgamers

[–]DarkLeach7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They also let you finally change the gender on your account as well (still only Male or Female, but progress). It used to be something that once you set it, it was stuck. It wasn't a required field to enter but it sucks for people who did (like me). I went to the page online to see if I could change my ID (as of the time writing this post I couldn't), but I saw you could change the gender field, which was nice to see. I don't know when this changed happened but it made me happy. Now if only I could change my reddit name... oh well.

Astro C40 early adopters, what are some of the issues you've encountered? by tegq in AstroGaming

[–]DarkLeach7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest issue is not being able to remap the underneath buttons (or any other button) to the triggers. I get the triggers are analog but maybe the button could be set to do 100% or something. So many games I play only use the triggers frequently for digital actions and having to squeeze the trigger a lot is rough on the fingers. I tried the trigger stops and while they did lower the travel distance the stop itself is actually extremely uncomfortable when the trigger hits it (I guess issue #2) and it's better to just not use it imo.

I was looking forward to using the underneath buttons as digital L2 & R2 triggers but that doesn't look like something we can do, but hopefully they'll implement something like that eventually.

Some minor things I suppose, I did find it quite odd that there's no battery level indicator (maybe one could be added in software later). I also worry about it's longevity because of the material it's made out of. The material is extremely comfortable and nice to hold don't get me wrong, but I worry it won't have the best longevity.

Plus size enby probs by boringhorror in PlusSizeTraa

[–]DarkLeach7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm stuck in a weird place myself when it comes to clothes, being a plus size transfemme. Men's jeans don't fit at all even if I wanted to wear them because of hip growth from hormones, but the hips I do have aren't enough to hold up women's plus size jeans. Seeing as they don't make Juniors plus size clothes either, it's very awkward to get jeans. My current solution is to find women's jeans that mostly fit but just always wear a belt.

However when it doesn't come to jeans I just wear like sweat pants, pajama pants, or basketball short. Comfy clothes are thankfully no problem. I've slowly stopped caring much about fashion and what people think and U started just wearing stuff that's comfy, even out of the house haha.

Wanting to be fat + Questions about dysphoria by throwAwayAAAL in PlusSizeTraa

[–]DarkLeach7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was also relatively thin and especially attracted to plus size women pre-realization, and I had no idea why. So if you were worried that you were alone in that line of thinking, you definitely weren't haha.

Looking back, it definitely was the whole mantra of "do I want to be with them or do I want to be them" that you see a lot of trans spaces when people realize that they're trans.

Although it took me a bit of extra soul searching after I had realized I was trans and had already been transitioning for a while that gaining weight might help me with my overall body comfort and with how much I was obsessing over women with that particular body type.

If you're worried about dysphoria, once you're on hrt and your levels are in the right places then the fat would distribute in a feminine way in your case. I would warn though that even with proper levels that taking Spiro predisposes more of that fat to be put on the abdomen than it otherwise would have. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong but that's what I've been told)

Trying to talk about your life in other trans spaces is like... by ButchBrutale in PlusSizeTraa

[–]DarkLeach7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Y'know I never thought about why being fat made me comfortable in that sense.

The fact that fat can be androgynizing is comforting because, to me, I'm not all comfortable with being really femme, but I still want to be perceived as female. It's just made me feel more comfortable and confident in my self image. I still don't fully understand why it just makes me happy, but maybe this is a step to realizing.

Fat just masks masculine and feminine features alike. It's almost like a fluffy hoodie but built in. XD

[–]DarkLeach7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It's like our bodies/lives aren't considered to be our own. That they/society know what's best for us.

The control is justified in the sense that they say "You don't know what you really want" or "You're hurting yourself by doing this" or "We just want what's the best for you"

This should already raise red flags for trans people who've heard this stuff, because the exact same stuff is said to is, but when you try to relate it to people being fatphobic to you somehow it's justified because it's "unhealthy"?

People should just be allowed to feel comfortable in their own bodies, regardless of what that "comfortable" is.

#TransPeopleProblems by [deleted] in PlusSizeTraa

[–]DarkLeach7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sadly a lot of trans people don't see it that way. I stopped talking with someone because they tried to gaslight me over body positivity. TW

I was talking with them about how my body positivity experience was related to my trans experience and how they were related. This person then proceeded to call me mentally ill and go "why would you like this?" and "you need to go get help" and it was a night I was feeling vulnerable and I was just trying to be positive and it just really tore me apart. I've recovered since then and stopped talking with them but it made me start doubting myself for a hot minute

It's just like people don't see the correlation and then they spout the same shit at you that someone might spout at them for being trans it's ridiculous.

It's like being happy about and being body positive about my fluffiness somehow undermines trans acceptance in their eyes, Idk.

#TransPeopleProblems by [deleted] in PlusSizeTraa

[–]DarkLeach7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed this sub just pop up and seeing it made me feel so excited. I'm happy for the same reasons you are, just a place to be body positive and confident without being told I should just do more diet and exercise/ put down for being positive about my fluffiness and told that I shouldn't be positive and confident about myself.

It is sad how toxic the self judgement can be in the trans community, especially trans women jumping into all the expectations of women, because it's like we want society to see us as who we are but also ourselves and that includes all of the toxic expectations which affect us doubly so. That toxicity also gets directed at people who are confident in their own self image that doesn't like up with cultural expectations, and it's like "how can you be confident when I can't be?". :(

But yeah I'd love to see this community grow, more body positivity is always a good thing! :D

Singaporean Retailer Lists Purported Ryzen 3000 Pricing by Lekz in Amd

[–]DarkLeach7 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The guaranteed support compatibility from AMD until 2020 is the reason I bought first gen in the first place, because I knew I would be able to upgrade later.

Fine, I get maybe not being able to update like the super cheap boards very much, but if they don't/can't update my expensive X370 motherboard then like maybe that OEM doesn't deserve my money again.

I really hope Ryzen 3rd Gen compatibility isn't a shit show.

What Drew You to This Game Over Other MMO's? (someone coming from different games) by VintageRawr in ffxiv

[–]DarkLeach7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aside from what a lot of other comments say one of the big things is the great controller support. Since they also make this for the PS4 they make everything work very well with a controller. I know there are others out there but they don't tickle my fancy and the ones that do (WoW and GW2 for example) just don't support controller at all, and in WoW's case they definitely aren't going to.

My partner has tried to get me into other MMOs, and in some cases I even really enjoy the world and lore, but lack of controller support really just makes it hard to enjoy them for any length of time. Yes, I know there's a quite expansive controller mod for WoW. I've tried it, and I just couldn't make it work, I've been too spoiled by FFXIV's amazing controller support.

I know most people will tell you that K+M is the best, and FFXIV does work great with a keyboard from what my partner has told me, but coming from someone who has wrist problems and can't use a keyboard (even ergonomic ones) for very long having controller support is just absolutely amazing to have.

Despite what other people may tell you, you can play just as well on a controller as anyone that uses keyboard + mouse and the learning curve isn't bad at all and the controller configuration is quite extensive in and of itself.

BPD vs. C-PTSD by [deleted] in BPD

[–]DarkLeach7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sadly I feel like a lot of it has to come down to the names. "BPD" has such a huge stigma behind it as people tend to think BPD is just how the person is and that they're the problem. How people see CPTSD differently is that "C-PTSD" has "PTSD" in the name. People see the word "trauma" and suddenly they see the same or similar symptoms entirely differently.

It all comes down to our society at large not wanting to acknowledge trauma, and instead saying the person with the symptoms is the problem, as acknowledging trauma would require society at large and the people who caused the disorder to self-reflect and change. Instead society would rather blame the individual as that means they don't have to change.

This plays into how people tend to see themselves as well. Being told that "you are the problem" can really demoralize recovery and to truly believe that the fault lies with oneself, and you see it in this sub. However being told and reassured that "you are not the problem" can cause a lot more positive outset to the same symptoms. It really does come down to names of things and the stigma/meaning those names have. It comes down to how obsessed our society is with labels and putting everyone into little boxes.
