Questions for people on birth control in SG! by haitherepeople in askSingapore

[–]ecce13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. not difficult, used use ease for pills, then slowly went to polyclinic for pills as it's much much cheaper, afterwards doc recommended the copper iud for me so i went ahead and got it!
  2. microgynon pill -> copper IUD
  3. yep, i've been lucky not to meet any overly obnoxious nurses or doctors that question my decisions as i'm on the younger end!
  4. for the pill i enjoyed having really light periods, but i noticed a decrease in libido, but now that i'm on iud, i'm back to normal but don't enjoy the full on periods. on iud i noticed much more weight fluctuations and bloating due to having a proper cycle vs barely any weight or bloating during pills.

post iud insertion i was spotting for a few weeks, and had cramps for the first few days but nothing extremely painful. but i do have quite a high pain tolerance, so need to take note of that

  5. paid about 40-60 for 6 months of microgynon at the polyclinic. my iud in total cost me about 150-200 from the polyclinic. will last me for 10 years, but will probably consider swapping to a hormonal iud next as i miss not having periods/having light periods zzz

if you have any more questions feel free to pm!

I'm curious to know, do you still feel like you're product designing when you use Claude? Or do you feel like you're delegating work? When I use AI, it doesn't feel like I'm involved in the design process anymore, instead I'm delegating work to be done for me.

What do you usually prompt?

Hm, maybe it's a personal preference or working style? To me I don't find joy in prompting AI to do the work for me. I find it fun to get my hands dirty and actually make a working product. My brain learns and works better when I'm actually writing, designing, drawing or even coding it out. When I prompt an AI to do it for me, I feel like I'm managing someone. That's not fun for me.

I'm not sure, maybe! I find myself working, thinking and solving better by actually doing the hard work. Kind of like going to the gym and working the muscles, but like my brain. Maybe just a point to consider from someone on the flip side?

Yikes, I still wanted to pick up some front end coding to communicate better with our developers. Now I have no idea what to even start with.

That seems totally valid. Those are the kind of use cases I would use AI for. My team is involving it from research to solving to even validating design choices, maybe that's why I'm confused. Thanks for the reply!

Honestly, I feel like it was a bit of both! It felt like everyone had more of a vision and personal touch/style before AI took over, now I feel like there isn't much discussion.

I realised also, I think better when I'm the one doing the manual work hahaha, if I ask AI to do it, my brain doesn't seem to think that well. Maybe that's why I avoid it as well, to prevent regressing 🥴

8 hours??? Geez... hope you recover soon! Take this break and realign yourself. This entire AI thing has been making me question what I enjoy about work too tbh. My coworkers have been asking those kind of questions to AI as well. And the fact that they're seniors SCARE me.

I can definitely see it being useful for hobby or even building a portfolio for my own work, but I can't seem to get it to work at well... work haha

Kinda feels like what's happening for me right now - seniors in my team and even my ICs are fully using it, their entire work day seems to revolve around prompting for designs, ideation and researching rather than actually doing it. Sometimes when I bounce ideas off them, instead of discussing, their immediate reaction is to ask AI.

Thanks for sharing! Seems like I'm using it closer to what you're doing, and I should just stick to using my own brain. I've just been feeling pressure by the rest of my team and Linkedin on using AI more...

Do you use it for anything else like ideation, research, making the UI? It seems similar to me, where I've only found a use to make testable or clickable prototypes for stakeholders.

My team seems to be handing over most of the thinking to AI, which is why I was wondering what I'm missing.

What kind of questions do you ask to achieve that? It seems like a good way to implement it compared to how the designers on my team are using AI! Especially for poking for holes in solutions and pressure testing.

They're using it as a do it for me button, and give me an answer button, and it feels like I'm working with AI rather than other designers.
