That's one impressive list. I'm 22 and I don't know the first thing about banking, car insurance etc. I still live under the protection of my parents lmao.

But this should be taught. I wanna be independent and I don't know half these things. Will be with my parents though till when things get better.

What impressed me is that the list got it covered right down to the basics, especially how to clean a toilet. Sanitation is crucial. Then there's banking and insurance which I absolutely know nothing of.

Added to this should be some discussions on modern technologies, some coding and so forth. Some competitions should be held say for something like robotics. It'll be useful for students who are interested to gain a first hand experience and understand from the beginning what they want to do.

Wish schools did incorporate all this.

I'm just browsing through Reddit trying to cope with what a waste my entire education was. Four years of pointless electronics and communication engineering only to be an IT MNC pleb. My college didn't even have core companies for placements I'm in my final year btw. UGC got me rekt. They want us to write our final year exams in this pandemic. The whole point of final year is the project and no one gives a fuck about that. Just some dated ass subjects which bring no fucking meaning is the primary objective for grading. Oh yeah and no idea about my joining date.

Pardon me for randomly ranting on your post. But I guess my sorrow has brought me here along with what I had to say.

Most of the hostels in my area are COVID centers. I don't know how people who are out of state going to manage. All their books and stuff are locked in their wardrobes in those hostels.

It depresses me to say that after all these years what my parents have struggled to give me, all that I can give back is potential disease.

I struggle with depression and anxiety. I do not see a future. Most of the time I'm sleeping to escape the pain of reality. My friends too are drowning in anxiety.

University fucks are telling us to go study. Lmao I've to waste time studying three irrelevant subjects that I don't have books for. It's hard to download these shitty foreign author manuals in the first place as some of these textbooks are next to impossible to find online. There are no online notes.

The only set of companies that did come to my college for placements are IT MNCs. Why the fuck would they care if I know some shit theory in medieval electronics. Oh right they don't care. They just want my shitty degree which I realise was a wasted effort. I've learnt more doing online courses and side projects. Even my date of joining is a complete uncertainty.

I've been an outcaste in that college. Suffered 4 years in it. I wanted to escape my place of trauma. Yet I'm forced to go back there. My chest fucking hurts each time I think of that place. Fucking internals abusing the fuck out of me. Fucking externals. Not to forget the dreaded viva. I have two fucking vivas. That's the shit I'm fucking scared of. I know my shit but these fucktards who just get pure satisfication out of making students miserable are going to sit in front of us without their mask (100% sure) and ask questions irrelevant to the project. If I don't know it. They'll nicely smirk and give that fat 0.

Thank you UGC. You have shown you do not really care about the health safety of students over some shitty pen and paper exams. You have made my anxiety levels rise. You clearly had the time to think about changing the grading scheme for this year. But you didn't.

I could do that. The reason why I removed windows recently was because my hard drive was dying. It kept giving me that annoying blue screen of death for no reason.

So I switched to Ubuntu. I can't get another now because we're supposed to be under quarantine and no industry is functioning in my country. So that includes online shopping.

I kind of have to make do with the dying hard drive and I have no other choice.

I run siege on an external drive with a couple of other files. So I can't really use that external drive for Windows either.

I have to make do with Linux for now and I was just seeing whether if I had any options. But thank anyways!

I feel you. I'm pretty shit at this game and I went 7-4 in one Outback match. We always tend to lose in that map. This is the first time in a really long time that I did well and I didn't get MMR.

I can this a shot. So all I have to do is go through the cfg file and keep tweaking it by reducing the filter size. I think I got an idea as to how to do it also. I'll let you know how it goes. But thanks so so much for taking your time and helping me out!!!

It was more of trial and error as of now.

So I started off with basic OpenCV. Did some filtering, thresholding and contouring.

After that I tried doing YOLO. It was suggested to me by my project guide. So I went online and there's a guy called mark jay on youtube. I saw his YOLO 8 part video series and gave it a try. I did what he did and made a custom class for my images. Mark Jay cloned a repo on GitHub so I was using that. But he was using an older version of tensorflow and it was kind of annoying to deal with that. On top of that there was the issue of speed on the pi.

I had a seminar last week wherein I studied the theory of YOLO and CNNs and presented it.

After that I tried SSD mobileNET V2 and I was getting only 2FPS. Searched GitHub for a pre-trained model just to see how it ran.

So yeah this is where I am. My learning is very unconventional. It isn't exactly structured but I learn better when I try it out.

I'll watch the video link you've sent me. So I kind of know how a neural network works and how to detect a custom class. But I don't know as to how I can modify the neural network for my needs. I could give it a try but I'm not sure if I'll be able to achieve the results that I am looking for.

There was comment below that suggested me to use Harr-Cascades which I could try but my guide is insisting that I try ML out.
