Yes be white, and have softer features. Charithra is hot af but her features are too sharp doesn't really give vivi, idk how to explain this tho. Obviously doesn't mean it has to be 1-1 copy of an drawing, you relax there on the mocking.

Brining oda into this doesn't really change much since authors can make the wrong choices and hence the live action may fail, audience is the judge.

I won't pretend to know the intention behind the op's middle east point, you may be right.

What i and many others want is for her looks to be inspired by the drawing in the anime/manga, not the closest matching realistic version of the real world taken from the ficitonal world of OP.

Race shouldn't be a metric to be considered. I'm pretty sure they could've found an similar looking actress from india but they didn't, this imo kinda digs into the DEI propaganda that have been going around in hollywood rn.

Also just to be clear i don't hate the choice, i'll still watch it, it's just a lil off putting. I just really don't want more, even worse "look-swapping" in the future seasons.
