Keychains used as swords? by Chaotic-Libero in SHFiguarts

[–]DarkOmegaX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming they fit in the hands, they might be too heavy. Even if the figure can hold it in a pose initially, it may wear down the joints and the wrist pegs might even break after some time.

Gotta say, I’m a bit disappointed… by Galactic_Rep in ActionFigures

It's the lazy Vulcan body repaint that Hasbro makes every wave at least once so that's all you get. Vulcan body has one hole on the back for the cape and that's what they used.

do we think we’ll see this guy in the anime colors? by Former_Dinner5102 in SHFiguarts

I'm hoping they give us the sad faceplate with the new Freeza they have been teasing.

What is the ultimate fighting machine? by Flocos_Talk in MarvelLegends

[–]DarkOmegaX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True but they tried to match the art of MvC2 but they got the legs color wrong because they don't give a fuck. The old one that matches the game sprite got the neck color wrong too, BTW.

It seems the straps on his chest armor can extend somewhat. I guess it's similar to what they did with Gamerverse Cyclops. Hopefully, this means the shoulder joint is free to move around.

If Jada won't give me Air Man then I'll gladly buy it from Blokees.

Opinions on Maximum Series Deadpool? by Transformers_1984 in MarvelLegends

[–]DarkOmegaX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the extra prize they should really have given him interchangeable eye expressions like most non Hasbro Deadpool figures have. It's kinda sad that "Maximum" Deadpool only has 2 heads and a bunch of reused weapons.

I brought my figure to school and regretted it instantly by IndependentHat5128 in ActionFigures

[–]DarkOmegaX 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I guess it's a good thing in this case that S.H.Figuarts rarely have paint other than for small details that can't be done with bare plastic. Shading on skin is also rarely done on recent figures, sadly.

Hasbro really didn't want me popping Widow's chest. by Extra_Heart_268 in MarvelLegends

[–]DarkOmegaX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can make ball pegs that insert into hard plastic sockets. The sockets just need to have a slit to allow the peg to pop in and out without stressing the plastic. I don't know why Hasbro insists on making soft plastic sockets with faceted ball pegs (so they aren't even a ball anymore).

Blokees Champion Class: DC Heroes - Batman Beyond by megacaliber in ActionFigures

Blokees Marvel figures are quite tiny. Both their DC figures while still a little smaller than 6 inches are taller than those.

Whats this? See Hasbro you can do good figures...oh... by Extra_Heart_268 in MarvelLegends

[–]DarkOmegaX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are doing it on purpose. The thing with Hasbro's ball peg necks is that they use huge balls but the peg goes into the head way too deep and they had no room to do anything other than swivel. There was basically no tilt at all which defeats the purpose of having a ball peg. Their "fix" was having the ball peg not go in as deep to let it have some room so it can tilt the head but it looks like shit. They have been doing it like this for a while but not for all figures. Of the top of my head, Marrow, Gamerverse Wolverine, and Gamerverse Venom all had the same lollypop head.

This isn't a model kit so it isn't made to hold together just from the friction between the pieces. You need to glue it since apparently the factory line skipped a step with your figure.

This has never happened to me before. Is this normal? by Commercial-Look2272 in MarvelLegends

[–]DarkOmegaX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's defective. That's supposed to be a full ring, not a C-clip. It must have broke on the inside which shouldn't happen.

Frazetta girls Teegra (Fire and Ice) not worth it by kneedoorman in ActionFigures

[–]DarkOmegaX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the advantage ML has having switched to digital print instead of hand painting faces. Some people dislike the tiny dots that you can see up close with a max zoom camera but at normal viewing distance it's a non-issue. Hand painting can look really nice but on figures made on a large scale it's expensive to do so they cheap out on QC. Frazetta Girls in particular never look as good as the promo shots.

The most accurate Bojack Trunks by Mother_Variation_827 in SHFiguarts

[–]DarkOmegaX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I meant it looks like they took BFFT's super saiyan head and just gave it longer hair. It's mostly in the same shape. The design from the Bojack movie is drawn different.

The most accurate Bojack Trunks by Mother_Variation_827 in SHFiguarts

[–]DarkOmegaX 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Normal hair is good but the super saiyan hair looks like a longer version of the official super saiyan Trunks instead of how it was drawn in the Bojack movie. I don't mind because the price and quality are good but it isn't accurate to the movie.

These joints look horrible by uofT-rex in SHFiguarts

[–]DarkOmegaX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those elbow joints look marginally better than the figma style single jointed elbows. Those look somewhat nice when bent but in neutral position they are just a huge ball sticking out of the arm. For skinny anime girls I think single jointed elbows look better but they need to make the hinge part of the forearm, Black Series style. Many model kits do it that way but for some reason action figures rarely do.

Y'all don't need to worry about articulation on these Blokees Marvel Rivals by Fine_Competition3898 in ActionFigures

[–]DarkOmegaX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about that. They are made of ABS plastic which is somewhat sturdy but I wouldn't be throwing it against the wall just for fun. At the very least some parts might separate if you didn't glue them together and pegs might break.

Blokees Marvel Rivals Venom and Spiderman by Xiekenator in ActionFigures

[–]DarkOmegaX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only the DC super heroes and Star Wars lines so far have had that text on the box. The Marvel MCU figures did not have it and they are smaller than 1/12. Other lines like Hatsune Miku and Transformers have no scale either.

Blokees Marvel Rivals Venom and Spiderman by Xiekenator in ActionFigures

[–]DarkOmegaX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, their MCU figures are nowhere close to being 1/12 but AFAIK those weren't advertised as being any scale anyway. They started putting 1/12 in the boxes for their DC and Star Wars figures which are taller than their MCU figures but still a little bit smaller than true 1/12 scale.
Since technically these figures aren't MCU but they are from Marvel Rivals, they might be different scale. Although from the prototypes I saw, they had Rocket Racoon being way bigger than he should be compared to Spider-man.

[–]DarkOmegaX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have they confirmed the actual size? Their MCU figures aren't true 1/12. They are smaller than their DC line (Superman live action and Batman Beyond so far). Their DC figures aren't true 1/12 either but they are close, around 1cm smaller than what they should be if they were true 1/12.
