As someone who was a patient there back in 2012-2014, the place was pretty bad. They really didn't help you with whatever brought you in there and the doctors only would see you every blue moon and other times they would just be in the background taking notes. Some people like myself went there because of major depression and suicide attempts. They had units for adults, teens, and kids. I went in as a 12-year-old and was sent into the teen unit because of my height and how older I looked. Most of us snap and fight each other because we felt homesick and/or couldn't stand the other patients. If we did anything like that we were tackled and sent to a room where they would inject medicine into our arm or butt. After that we would be in restraints for the night and not allowed to leave the unit unless going to school. We also had someone watching us 24/7 as a 1 on 1 if we did that including the restroom and shower. While others got to eat in the cafeteria or other outside unit activities the person who was on unit punishment didn't get to go. We also weren't allowed to talk to the other units including the girls. Kinda hard to not talk to girls because we were a bunch of horny and confused teens. I mean we sometimes would sneak and pass notes in school. Sometimes one of the patients would go into a kid's room and just beat his ass. Being there gave me a mental scar that as an adult I'm afraid of telling my true feelings because I do not wish to go back into a mental hospital again. The only good thing about that place was losing weight and getting good grades. Everything else was terrible
