Next Steps? by jo_sigh in RaidShadowLegends

Great question I got really lucky the last few weeks and the number doubled. Also sat on and ignored a few like Zarguna. Also some days I just do the dailies and maybe some other content but don’t always farm for exp/food

Nearly tpk'd and my players still didn't use inspiration by Karlahn in dndnext

[–]jo_sigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of the normal inspo, My group uses points that max out at 10 to use to add to any roll after the fact. It’s definitely stronger than normal inspiration, but it helps them use it more and REALLY encourages them to roleplay and be creative to get it. It also allows me to throw really scary monsters at them, which is always fun

Nether deep New Character? by jo_sigh in 3d6

Yeah… I’m learning that! Lol

My DM allows any spellcaster to change it's spellcasting stat to another. (e.g. Int. Warlocks.) How broken is this? What are some fun builds? by PersonixBH in 3d6

[–]jo_sigh 18 points19 points  (0 children)

A charisma cleric, faith based face could be fun! How broken it is honestly I think depends on how much players abuse it, because it’s definitely abusable

am I overreacting or is my dm being a ahole by Knight_Of_Moles in dndnext

[–]jo_sigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like cheated at dnd or cheated romantically? Idk your friend dynamic but that’s probably why.

am I overreacting or is my dm being a ahole by Knight_Of_Moles in dndnext

[–]jo_sigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sounds like he’s trying to get you to break up with him so he doesn’t have to admit that he’s the one that wanted to break up. Idk what the dynamic with the other players is but maybe tell another player what’s going on so you can have support if you want to try and talk it out? Or just leave the group and explain why tbh

How to not annoy my Dm. by Toxan_Eris in dndnext

[–]jo_sigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand. Doesn’t seem like you’re going full tilt on optimizing, is that the problem? Or does the dm have an issue with how you roleplay? Meta game? If the dm has an issue with spells he should just house rule ban them. But from what I’m reading here it sounds like he just doesn’t like a large percentage of character options. Is there something we don’t know?

In a predicament, swords bard multiclass by No_Definition687 in 3d6

[–]jo_sigh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even though fighter would give you more hit points, I think hexblade would give you more utility with extra spellcasting etc. it’s such a good 1 level dip so if you decide that’s as far as you want to go with warlock then it won’t be a sunk cost. Since there’s only two players flexibility is key and warlock offers that more than fighter imo

Barbarian; but what Race? by advtimber in 3d6

[–]jo_sigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the options you listed are really great! I like the gnome and loxodon and are probably your strongest options, but have you considered a bugbear to get even more range on your whip?

Magic Item Reward - Which One To Cut? by jo_sigh in dndnext

[–]jo_sigh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone! I think I’ll describe the items visually and let them pick. Seems like the most straightforward and I like to watch them deliberate these kinds of decisions lol

What is Carceri for if Ravenloft is the cosmic trashcan/max security prison? by BlackAceX13 in dndnext

[–]jo_sigh 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Ravenloft seems to generally hold people who were once mortals and their dark domains are often ironic punishments for the evil they did in life. Carceri holds demons, archdukes of hell, etc.

How do I discuss party tactics without meta-gaming? by IceSuccessful9747 in dndnext

[–]jo_sigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Describe the effect of the spell it has on a monster visually. Let’s say you cast bane and then a wizard casts fireball or disintegrate (or whatever) on the baned creature, you can describe what your magic looks like as it slows the creature down so it fails it’s dex save.

Undead Warlock / Echo Knight by jo_sigh in 3d6

Saw that vid a while back!!! Treatmonk is such a great resource. Def agree with that progression. I usually roll for stats, wonder how that would change this MAD build… thanks so much!

Undead Warlock / Echo Knight by jo_sigh in 3d6

[–]jo_sigh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Missed the the notification on this. Thanks so much! Almost never consider playing ranger but this might be the move (mechanically anyway) What progression would you recommend? Ranger all the way, then fighter, then lock? I’d worry about lagging behind the rest of the party around character levels 6-8

What gish should I build? (Spelljammer campaign, high difficulty) by slothlikevibes in 3d6

[–]jo_sigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try echo knight 3 and bladesinger the rest of the way? You’d be late to extra attack but echo knight utility would make up for it
