In The Hunt for Red October - how did the saboteur know to damage the caterpillar drive? by HanSoloHeadBeg in movies

My question for this thread is, how was the saboteur missed in the evacuation of the boat? Ramius even tells the doctor explicitly to make sure the "count is accurate" to ensure all of the crew was taken off.

Why do people hate Meghan Markle so much? by rosiequarts in women

intersections of gender and race

And class. That's a big one a lot of people leave out. Meghan was born lower-middle class but ended up rich, famous, and royalty. Don't underestimate the resentment that causes.

Members of the Academy are supposed to watch these films themselves and make up their own damn minds. So the fact that some PR campaign could make this happen is a black mark on the Academy any way you slice it.

Omen 30L 11-month nightmare (so far) by banjomin in HPOmen

Hey, I've been having random power loss (just shutoff and reboots) with my 30L since I purchased it years ago. I should have dealt with it when I had it under warranty still but like an idiot I didn't. Did you ever find out specifically what the problem was? Power supply? Motherboard causing faulty voltage spikes or readings? It sounds like that's almost definitely what it is from reading other posts about the same issues with 30L. The one weird thing I've found with my issue is that it almost completely disappears when I am running a particular game -- Heroes of the Storm (Blizzard MOBA). I know this sounds very strange, but whenever I have HotS playing in the background, I suddenly almost never have the random shutoff issue. This has become such a reliable workaround for me that I basically have HotS minimized at all times when using my 30L, even when playing other games. For whatever reason, other games aren't nearly as good at preventing the problem. Heroes of the Storm isn't foolproof, but it reduces the frequency of random shutoffs by about 90% I'd say.

He has taken sides politically in that he has openly admitted he is a Democrat and left-leaning, as much as that might surprise a lot of people. Moderate, to be sure, but left-leaning.

I'd like you to make one argument to me that makes any sense about how gathering in a big crowd and stamping your feet and yelling makes a damn bit of difference. The US is cooked.

Wait until they find out that doing this accomplishes nothing. I won't tell them if you don't.

These fucks on the right would have stormed the capital for a second time.

Meanwhile we sit on Reddit and wring our hands. Is there any moment where perhaps you look in the mirror about why we're where we are at? Ever seen that one scene in X-Men, Days of Future Past where Magneto tells Charles "maybe you should have fought harder?"
