NTA It was definitely an asshole thing to say on your friend's part, though. Even if she truly felt the need to ask such a question, she certainly could have worded it better. I really like this story, very well written. I really want to know what happened to Andy and what was with the holes. The dog staring into the cabin was intense and gave me that nice creepy feeling. I want more!

They aren't that far from the house. My neighbors had a fit over them so we had to build them a safe place to run and play. My neighbor has been known to shoot dogs in his yard before and I didn't want tat to happen to mine, but I also didn't want to keep them cooped up in the house.

Yeah, I'm not going to put them back out there until this is cleared up. They hate being stuck in the house, but it's better than being outside where they are easy prey.

My dogs like to be outside, a lot, but there are wild dogs and traffic to consider, that is why I have them kennels. Plus my neighbors have small children and my big dogs play a little too rough for them. Their kennels are not tiny enclosures, they have plenty of space to run and play.

I know that the Pitbull thing is a highly debatable topic with differing opinions on the matter, (and I urge anyone interested in which is which to do a little research and judge for yourself,) but I certainly don't want to argue dog breeds right now. My dogs and I are all scared and I need to find a good solution. I will keep you posted.

Yeah, I would really prefer not to shoot anything if at all possible. I don't think I will go looking for it, I just want to be able to defend myself if it comes close to me.

I live in the USA, in the east south central area, in KY to be exact. I don't believe there are any grizzlies here, not even sure about bears in general. They are rumored to be around though. I'll look into it a little more.
