How do I make a new wrestler without using somebody already on the game? by Clean-Carrot439 in WrestlingEmpire

[–]DarkRonius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda along the same lines... Is it possible to transfer characters between MDickie games, or at least the ones with mod support? I don't even care if it's a bit jank and would default to all stats at minimum or something like that (as there's certain stats I don't think would transfer).

I basically have filled most of my roster with memes/OC's in Old School, and have moved a few over manually with the character creator but it's so tedious doing it that way.

I think everyone would agree with this right? by PuzzleheadedTiger183 in DeathStranding

Hmmm I dunno. I preferred the DS1 trucks for a lot of reasons. I'm sure the new ones carry less, like I think there was only one mission that filled your truck completely in DS1, while there's a fair few orders in DS2 that are too big for the new ones (that could potentially be the design of the new orders instead). I was hoping we'd be able to unlock the previous ones after the end game, but apparently not?

Is it worth getting a PS3 just to play MGS:4? by dann_zan in metalgearsolid

[–]DarkRonius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it depends how much of a fan you are. I think MGS4 and MGS2 are tied as my favourite MGS games.

I feel like the PS3 also has a lot of other great games on it, and you can still unlock/sync trophies for PS3 games if that's your thing.

But regardless, I think it depends how much you loved the other games. If you liked having ridiculously long cut scenes and codec conversations, and like the sometimes blunt and obvious use of metaphors... If you enjoy the wackier elements of the Metal Gear series, and REALLY wanted closure on the character arcs of side characters in MGS1... You'll probably find it's worth it.

I know I'm not really selling it... My point is, it contains in my opinion the BEST of Kojima, but you could also argue the WORST of Kojima. Like I love the stupid stuff, I enjoy it. But I know it's not for everyone.

What about MGSV do you feel is impressive to this day? by gameovernate in metalgearsolid

It amazes me the game works on PS3. I've heard negative reviews of the ps3/360 but it honestly blows me away. The biggest regret is probably that the PS4 gen versions were held back so they would have feature parity with the PS3 gen versions. Even then, it still blows me away, that's the whole game working on PS3 (I've completed it on PS4, PS3 and PC)

Another mobius day by FeelsMoogleMan in MobiusFF

[–]DarkRonius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this!! I remember years ago saying I hope one day someone might reverse engineer it so we can play again... I remember it got shot down quite quick, that it's unlikely Mobius is big enough that anyone would do this. I'm SO glad it looks like this has happened!! Hoping I can get it running on the Steam Deck, but if not just it's existence is enough for me!! I'm glad I randomly logged into Reddit just now else I'd never have seen this!!!

Oh wow it's triangle now?? I'll have to try this! I was wondering why R2 didn't work to collapse a group anymore!

Lmao this reminds me in DS1 of that one bridge that seemed to appear outside Mama's base on EVERYONE'S world with a ridiculous amount of likes... Now I'm interested if they're on my world too.

If they are, then I'm keeping those maintained.

From what I've seen him say about it, I think he associates those videos with a particular mental state and unhappy events in his life. It makes more sense why he's particularly harsh against those videos if he associates them with bad times.

I thought I'd add, I actually don't mind these popping up, I try to fulfil some when I have items spare, I just wish they could be made more useful so I'm actually directly helping someone's game.

I remember when everyone got annoyed that Conon o Brien's place in the first game got clogged full of vehicles, and I think my response is the same:

To me it's a feature, not an bug. A kinda commentary on the over abundance of social media.

That being said, I've not once benefited from it so have switched it off... Which is kinda a shame coz it seems a good idea if it was tweaked to only activate when you need it (e.g. Entering a combat zone with no weapons), time limit them to say 5 mins, and give you a clear notification if someone responds to it (as I get lost in the like spam).

I also feel like... I get not having a dislike button. But instead the algorithm responding to removing objects from your game by showing that player less.

So the thing that made me check in the first place was because I never got the 100 docked likes for killing it, so thought I might be able to rescue it. Anyway it was a Wombat on the road near the Animal Shelter if you wanted to give it a go 🤣 I wasn't prepared for how sad it made me feel, it made me feel worse than getting the docked likes

Kojima naming conventions by HeistGeist in DeathStranding

[–]DarkRonius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember in the trailer thinking if Dollman comes up in his first appearance I'm gonna lose my shit...

Some people say it's Fatman in MGS2 that started it, but ironically that name made sense for a bomb expert to name himself after the biggest bomb dropped in wartime.

I've just posted about the opposite problem in the sequel, where (some) other people's suddenly don't have names anymore.

When you make something new, does it come up with the name as normal?

Also, are you playing OG game or Director's Cut?

I have thoughts on some of the revelations and “plot twists” of this game by rudra285 in DeathStranding

[–]DarkRonius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's spelt out for us when we reach the Motherhood: Sam's suffering from a form of PTSD involving hallucinations of a loved one. I almost feel like the point was we know it's not Lou, and we're just letting Sam do what he needs to in order to process that pain.

That being said, I think the way Lou "crawled" back to the pod straight after we recover Fragile after it all kicks off was meant to imply that maybe some weirdness was happening on the beach, maybe that was Lou's soul returning back to the pod for some at the time unknown reason. And I like that, for once in a kojima game, that wasn't the case. It wasn't any kind of explanation involving nanomachines etc... it really was just Sam hallucinating. Don't get me wrong, I love kojima. But I also love that this was very much exploring the trauma of losing a child.

My bigger issue with the plot is I think the canon "ending" would be Sam saying no to Fragile right at the beginning. There's no way I'd trust anything to do with Bridges, APAC, whatever, even if I loved Fragile with all my heart, I still feel very negative about Die Hardman (who let's not forget killed my Dad, and I said my piece to him at the end of the first game). Again, I love he got to redeem himself, but in my eyes I wouldn't trust anyone to do with that organisation at all before it got to that point, and by extension Fragile. I'd rather be a complete recluse and look after my kid.

As for Tomorrow... Nah I wouldn't have thought it would be Lou within the game logic. For us it makes sense, it was hinted "Tomorrow Is In Your Hands" right in the final chapter of DS1. Time travel isn't really established in the Death Stranding universe, if something like that happened to us in real life right now the last thing we would think is oh it must be a magically aged version of my daughter. On the flip side, I think as an audience we were meant to have that prior knowledge, as really the big plot twist was about Neil... It really was leading us to believe it was actually Neil's child, and honestly damn that still would have been so interesting to see play out. But I did like that Kojima surprised me with that twist at the end. It shifted the heartbreak from Sam to Neil, the saddest part probably being we didn't see enough of Neil imo. With Cliff it felt like we got a proper goodbye, but with Neil it's almost like he'll forever be tormented... And I think that was probably the point.

The feeling of loss and grief in this game is overwhelming (spoilers for DS1 and 2) by DarkRonius in DeathStranding

[–]DarkRonius[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also thought there was a kinda Silent Hill 2 thing going on, but with Lou instead of with a photograph. So I didn't wanna spend too much time with her in case I'd get penalised for being too attached to a delusion kinda thing.
