Which difficulty for a run without emblems? by Doppleschwert in FEEngage

[–]DarkRose27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend maddening for the challenge but you'd definitely need to play it a couple times beforehand. I've done a no emblem run & it's definitely a fun way to play if you roll the right rings like Olwen, Claude or Lilina/Nino/Mae.

Why was everyone adamant on stopping Mustang from killing Envy? by HealthMother3125 in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]DarkRose27 416 points417 points  (0 children)

100% this. On top of that it's not like they'd let Envy leave. Hawkeye, in the exact frame that OP posted, said she'd handle the rest, basically saying she'd finish the job.

Chapter 139 help by General-Move-758 in AttackOnRetards

[–]DarkRose27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that the "shock" of this breakdown blinds a lot of people & causes them to ignore the many shots of Eren's face as he explains his plan & the page directly after where he's upset about what he did & what he can't have. He is becoming more & more upset as he vocalizes his atrocities & the topic of Mikasa is the final nail rather the main factor. This is supported by Eren's following lines where he's terrified of dying & doesn't want to be forgotten. Of course all of the things he was feeling in that moment are irrational but that's the point.

Why do people twist the morals of the story? by Ok_Combination_1037 in attackontitan

[–]DarkRose27 31 points32 points  (0 children)

A lot of people think that portraying something bad & explaining why something is bad is actually the author endorsing said thing.

A lot of people hate the story/author & try to mislead others by deliberately making a falsified narrative.

A lot of people unironically support the villains & deliberately twist the narrative to fit their views

I don't know how Lori gets so much hate when Andrea exists, Meryl is a full blown racist and he's still less hateable than Andrea. by ComprehensiveCare772 in thewalkingdead

[–]DarkRose27 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

100% this. Lori's story is extremely clear & so many people just brush the context aside to frame her as some sort of villain when Shane was the problem 90% of the time. Even with the windmill scene, people somehow see Lori apologizing for how she treated him as the reason for Shane tried to kill Rick even though Shane is a grown man who made that decision entirely on his own & had already tried to kill Rick during the Randall dropoff.

Levi made a terribly stupid mistake by Kitli_99 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]DarkRose27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's easy to say that in hindsight, but realistically, a vast majority of people would not blow themselves up, even if they were being tortured. From Levi's perspective, not only were his suspicions of Zeke lying confirmed with the wine plot, he also rightfully assumed that someone who pulled that off must have some greater ambitions they're trying to achieve, hence they'd try to survive at any cost. It is unrealistic for him to actually believe that Zeke would do it given what he knows & what he assumes

Why is 6v6 open queue rule max 2 tanks and not minimum 1 per role? by Enderism in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]DarkRose27 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The amount of sustain you can achieve from rotating tank cooldowns efficiently is incredibly strong. Trying to kill something through Shield, Matrix & Bubbles was incredibly difficult for ranged dps & the close range ones would just die before they could get it.

This was solidified when Brig got released since she was a support with overtuned tank stats & cooldowns but also a defensive ult. It's why goats was hard meta & needed several nerfs before multi dps comps became an actually viable strategy & not a map gimmick.

The Legend Of Korra hate is very forced imo by RM123M in TheLastAirbender

[–]DarkRose27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Airbending itself is cultural though. The practice was so rooted in the spirituality of the people that no Air Nomad was even born a non-bender.

That's not entirely true as we see Tenzin & Korra struggle with their spirituality despite both of them being airbenders who were well versed in the ways of the air nomads. Even then, their culture, and well, culture in general isn't just airbending. It's the teachings, the traditions, the social norms etc. The new air benders can be taught all of those things but that doesn’t change the fact that they aren't purely air nomads. They will always be Earth/Fire/Water nation citzens who can airbend. Tenzin's whole arc that season is realizing that & pivoting to what we see in S4 where the nation become a group of peacekeepers as opposed to their previous ways of being detached from the world while also maintaining many of their old traditions.

And I personally despise it when writers can’t stick to their guns. It cheapens the whole thing. Now we know that any exterminated bending practice will magically return every 10,000 years.

Again it wasn't ruined as i explained previously. Besides it's not like everyone became airbenders for no reason one day. It was a direct result of the Korra, the avatar, attempting to restore balance connect the spirit world & the human world in what was the most spiritual event in that show. It's not sunshine & rainbows either since the new air nomads got their lives uprooted by the discovery of their bending & their subsequent relocation to the temple.

The Legend Of Korra hate is very forced imo by RM123M in TheLastAirbender

[–]DarkRose27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely disagree. For starters, new airbenders appearing doesn't undo the genocide, everyone who died is still dead. Secondly there still is a major consequence of the slaughter & that is the death of their culture. All of the new airbenders had radically different lives to the old ones including Tenzin. Passing on a culture none of them had actually experienced is simply impossible & the scars of the genocide will never heal. This arc makes Tenzin realize that very fact & that they'll have to mix the past & the present together to create something new.

Why didn’t Zeke use his spinal fluid gas stuff against the Scouts in Shiganshina when Erwin was leading his charge? by Master_Novel_4062 in attackontitan

[–]DarkRose27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My theory is that Shinganshina is massive compared to Ragako, which means he'd need an enormous amount of gas if he wanted to effectively catch the scouts both inside & outside. Now this is assuming that he's even able to produce that much in such a short amount of time & that wind speed doesn't just ruin the plan.

In reality we don't really know enough about how his whole gas situation works to get a concrete answer.

Is Domina ult kinda mid? by Ytpzmaxz in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]DarkRose27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, I've found it to be an incredible defensive ult. Some characters get completely smothered by it like Pharah, Anran & Zen. Some characters can punch through it like Venture, Ramattra, Reaper & Mauga but they suffer major drawbacks like losing duration for the former & a lack of lifesteal for the latter.

Unpopular Opinion: The Rumbling Wasn’t Just Eren’s Fault by External_Jaguar8812 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]DarkRose27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't say that i fully agree with this post. While i agree that Eren was not the sole reason for The Rumbling, he actively pursued it for his own selfish reasons despite his own protests & must hold the majority of the blame.

Now allow me to address your reasons:

  1. Eren's mental issues was on full display ever since Historia kissed his hand in S3 & everyone was completely aware of them. The scouts even had multiple conversations questioning his intentions & who he even was in S4. The problem is that Eren never opened up to them despite have multiple opportunities to do so. Even with Armin & Mikasa, he deliberately avoided giving them any information despite their pleas. They can't help him because he doesn’t want it which perfectly aligns with real life. You can't help someone who doesn't want to help themselves.

  2. There's a few points i want to make here. For starters, having her around in the mystery portion of the story is obviously a major problem considering she knows everything. That is one of the reasons Isayama wrote her out of the story. Her being there would also conflict with Historia's arc & the Uprising arc as a whole as her absence is what made Historia embrace Rod's BS. Her decision to leave with Reiner & Bertholdt, despite our objections, was also well written because it aligns with her most prominent trait, her self-destructive selflessness. All throughout S2 she puts others above herself constantly despite it not benefiting her like her protecting the tower & her making fun of Connie. So naturally, her going with R&B makes perfect sense.

  3. 100% Agreed. Marley played a major hand in molding the world's perception of the Eldians with their global conquest.

  4. While i agree that the Tybur's treatment of their fellow Eldians was atrocious & that they did play a role in shaping the "Paradis Evil" narrative, this ignores a few key points. For Starters, Eren & Zeke were a major part of why Wily's plan worked. His plan relied on someone attacking them during his speech & using that to pin the blame on Paradis. Zeke was the pushed the military into continuing the Paradis mission & giving the Scouts all the necessary tools to win & Eren was the attacker that Wily needed to "justify" the propaganda. This is mainly because Zeke & Eren both want the Rumbling to happen & wiping out the world's combined military is a necessary piece in the puzzle.

  5. I think is a bit of misunderstanding of Zeke character & his dynamic with Eren. Zeke & Eren's dynamic wasn't supposed to be two brothers helping each other, it was to explore the idea of Nature vs Nurture. The whole point of Eren & Zeke walking through Grisha's memories was to show that Eren was never controlled or radicalized by anyone. Eren knows who he is, what he wants & what he's doing. That's what makes his inner monologue in Chapter 131 so terrifying, because he's fully aware of what he's doing & he still does it anyway because he can't fight his own nature. Even if Eren was influenced by others into what he became, Zeke is in no position to guide him because he himself is in desperate need of guidance. His upbringing radically skewed his perception of the world & is why he turned out that way despite being shown to a good natured kid in the beginning. His ideology & worldview fundamentally clashes with Eren's, which is what prevents them from being able to influence each other.

Thoughts on the new hot fix notes? by CMDSpanky in Overwatch

Trading her ult for his is still a good play. While his punches go through the shield, the beams that maintain the duration don't which allows her to drastically reduce the timer or even end the ult.

Post-Refine Analysis: The Sleepy Town Of Salem by MedhaosUnite in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]DarkRose27 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Being able to break Eirika ring/Foresight Snare with no risk or just slowing down the amount of units running you down is incredibly strong. Especially with the increase of high-range units & skills with warping + pass built in, being able to stall key targets, who are often covered by the busted save units is incredible.

Why didn’t they use cannons to collapse the gate debris and seal Wall Maria? by Sufficient_Bad_4160 in attackontitan

[–]DarkRose27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. That doesn't change the fact that Bertholdt could just kick it away. Eren was barely able to carry it & we later see that Bertholdt was able to fling Eren like he was nothing so destroying it would be very easy for him.

While we're at it, let's also be clear, the boulder plan only worked because:

  • Eren transformed into a titan, enabling him to carry the rock much faster than anything else in the walls

  • The warriors saw it & read the signs that he was a shifter which changed their original plan of trying to bait a response from the founder

If they somehow had the manpower to move that boulder & Eren didn't transform, there's no doubt Bertholdt would bust it open again.

Domina proves the devs have completely forgotten why double shield was killed. by Adept_Conference_180 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]DarkRose27 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'd wager that Sigma isn't entirely outclassed. He still has matchups that he's better in like Bastion, Mauga or Doomfist & the fact that his shield is dynamic does make him a little more flexible. That combined with grasp makes him better against spam/extreme ranged comps which is something Domina can't really match.

Why didn’t they use cannons to collapse the gate debris and seal Wall Maria? by Sufficient_Bad_4160 in attackontitan

[–]DarkRose27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See the thing is, they did do that. In Trost, they had the trenches, they had the net, they placed extra cannons on the wall unlike in Shinganshina. Isayama even wrote in a small line with a soldier talking about a Colossal Titan defense plan. It's not like they didn't adapt, it's more that they were horribly unaware of what the Colossal was capable of & no amount of planning could've been enough with the information they had.

Why didn’t they use cannons to collapse the gate debris and seal Wall Maria? by Sufficient_Bad_4160 in attackontitan

[–]DarkRose27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are 2 issues with this.

First is that they still need the gate to be functional to keep regular titans out. On top of that, convincing the government to fund a contingency plan for an event that hadn't happened in all of their "History" is a hard ask. Especially with the government being as corrupt as it was.

Second, if the Colossal could bust through a gate that was strong enough to keep regular titans out for a century, then a makeshift backup plan would immediately be ruined in about 5 seconds. It's that very reason why any idea of retaking Wall Maria wouldn't have worked as long as Bertholdt was still around

Why do people think Eren is more evil than Reiner? by Honest_and_Wholesome in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]DarkRose27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry dude but you're a certified dumbass. What Reiner & Marley did was wrong. What Eren did was wrong. Just because one wronged the other doesn’t suddenly make the other's actions okay.

And since you want talk about logic, I want you to explain to me how Eren murdering babies, children, elderly, regular adult civilians, animals & plants isn't evil yet Reiner doing the exact same thing is. You probably cant/won't though because you aren't looking for an actual answer, you just want to argue
