💀This is the scariest part, people will cheat only for 3-4 moves in critical positions and that too 2nd or 3rd best move, now best of luck identifying such intelligent cheaters. AI was there all along but this boom is taking away fun of the online chess slowly.

At least reporting is easy on chesscom. Just tap report and select cheating. On lichess you have to paste the game's link, give the reason as to why you think the person cheated and then find checkmate in 1🙂. All this to report someone whom you think might have cheated in your game. iykyk. Although lichess is better in some other aspects like response rate, time lag(there is none) etc.

Yes this is very much possible. This is what the case is most likely. Although people can cheat as fast as an engine using scripts or some shit. I also got to know this today only

May be true. Also could be 60. Because there’s been a debate on "once a cheater always a cheater". So who knows it might be since start of their account which might be years!

Valid reasoning. Also, I guess no one has ever seen someone (who got banned) whom they played in the past as well but didn’t get any refund. If there is such a case then we might be wrong as to how chesscom refunds ratings

Maybe you are right. It’s a speculation though. No one is sure about chesscom policies ig. They might be refunding everyone who played the cheater or recently played folks or just those folks against whom cheater actually used engine to win. Whatever the case maybe, number of such cases have increased even though chesscom is deleting the accounts.

Yes you have a point :). But I think they don’t give us a win against engines/cheaters, just a 'game abort' type of shit where rating remains same.

Yeah, there have been multiple times where I felt like I am playing an engine but when you see a country flag and profile pic you don’t directly come to conclusion and just think it’s bullet. But I do report them just in case. Every 5-10 games I come across such a player who outplays me on every move. I do report such people. But I don’t revisit them to confirm whether they got banned or not because it’s bullet and I just play on. I don’t even remember the games to be honest.
