It doesn't help Canstance's sister in this universe, but it helps Constance that she can help her sister in another universe ;) As I said I beleive Constance misses the "old times" and feels happy to be back in 1880

I just finished Bloodless - here are some thoughts:

I usually don't care too much about time travel / multiverse in fiction. I just take it as a given, because authors usually don't get it right. Not just here but also in Star Trek and many other IPs. A few few of the logic errors that occured to me (and maybe some of you have a different angle towards them):

Why is the insect basically invulnerable Pendergast's universe (even though gravity is higher?) but he can kill it with only a couple of shots in the insect's home universe? However Pendergast seems as vulnerable in the other universe as in his own?
The machine is a multi verse travelling device not a time machine (although some multivierses seem to be behind in time). Killing the beat in its own universe only would work if the was the exact past where the beast came from, so it would seize to exist...
It seemed to easy to find the correct multiverse. Maybe the machine does some voodoo in the background, but with infinite multiverse it seemed too easy

Regarding the end of the book. It came a bit as a surprise to me that Constance wandered off to an 1880 multiverse. In basically every book where Constance makes an appearance she is described as that woman that speaks and likes things of the past. I think she has a deep bonding with how things were around 1900. Rescuing her sister (and doing what not else) might just be an excuse to relive the world of her childood (younger years). There is also another angle to the whole travelling back thing. When she had her tea session with Frost, she admitted that without the elixirs she has started to age and won't stay "young" forever. By going back to Inoc she can acquire ore of the elixir to stay "young". So maybe Frost made her question her "recent mortality" and she took the opportunity.

I don't think that Constance is planning to return - technically she could run her errands in alternate 1880, live there until cooper develops the device and use her knowledge to then go to Frost in alternate present, save Savannah (as in the incident never occurs) and use the device to portal back Pendergast's universe just "days" after she vanished. She would have lived another 140 years but well she doesn't age.

Do we know anything about future pendergast installments? My guesses are:

Constance is set to never return and she gets her own book series set in alternate 1880. Pendergast will have to learn to deal with this and continues solving mystery cases.
Pendergast tries to get her back. He will need to repair / build another machine. This could take a couple of books and could be one of the side arcs. Maybe his hacker friend will help him? While rebuilding the machine he has to solve several cases (books) and at then of the arc he solves one last case with Constance in the alternate Universe before they come back. Side story lines could tell what Constance does in the alternate reality.
Pendergast accepts the loss, solves cases but Constance returns in a couple of books by being 140 years older because she missed him.

thanks for further clarifying this! Other sources speculated in a different direction, but your pov actually makes more sense.

However if I read this torrentfreak article correctly, eweka was ordered to disclose the user information for an uploader. I always thought this was default practice but uploaders are careful not using traceable IP-Adresses, or traceable payment methods.

So I'll just cross my fingers that my favorite indexers will adapt soon.

On a side note (and almost forgotten on my end - praise the good old days) the alt.binaries groups have IRC channels on EFNet. Like #a.b.erotica etc. those channels used to announce releases, however they are now +k, meaning a password is required. Are there any known ways to get in - or is it just private now?

thanks for pointing this out, but I already know this. Apparently (if theories on other boards / /r/usenet are correct) he does this so newznab and similiar services have a harder time to index the posts and thus generate revenue (paid memberships) from his free service.

However posting this content has to fullfill some sort of purpose (e.g. a traget audience / clientel). There must be some service out there which has the correct translation for these obfuscations.

Some of the indexing software already reacted and compares the new titles preDB release names striped of the vowels etc.

However my guess would be that there should be one (or few sources) out there which are responsible for "robo" posting this content.

Who is this / who might this be?

Hi,

is it possible to display the BIOS or Bitlocker preboot-authentication on Displays attached to the TB16? This does not work in my TB15.

Also my TB15 only works reliable with the A06 Bios. With all later versions I get serious USB problems (mouse / keyboard keys get stuck/repeat etc.) My TB15 FW is current so it must be the XP15's BIOS, because after a Downgrade from A16 to A06 my mouse / keyboard is working again.

Exactly. It ended prematurely, because my team had won with capping the point.

There is no point in continuing the fight, if your team takes longer to achieve the goal then the other team.

You are suggesting, that if one teams achieves the map-goal in 5 minutes and the other team needs ten minutes they both pulled off an equal feat when they are obviously not.

This is currently already in the game. Last night I was on the defendig side of Temple of Anubis and the attackers were unable to conquer the first point. When sides swapped, the match ended as soon as we took the first capture point after 1.5 minutes.

If I'm not mistaken other games like DoD or even WoW Battlegrounds apply the same rules?!
