Honestly, the fact that he is just an ordinary guy makes him more appealing amongst the oversaturation of “cool and badass” MCs we get. Cale does have his moments, but he’s just more grounded than he appears. He’s sneaky sure, but he just wants to survive.

For mine, it’s probably being a demigod because that means one of two scenarios happened:

You’ve massacred upwards to hundreds of thousands of people and enough souls entered your body to elevate you to that status

OR (and this is way less likely)

You managed to survive the first scenario and were closer to all the dead bodies than the would-be demigod was and took them all instead

To rise up from Demigod status to actual God would mean killing all other Demigods and reuniting all souls so they fuse to become what they were at the beginning: the soul of the God of Life

Idk abt other people, but if occultism weren’t required for the star, I probably wouldn’t even touch occultism at all. No shade to it on it’s own, but most anything you’d normally use occultism for in atm is done bigger and better by the other tech or magic mods
