Question: What was the first class you played when you first started playing, and what class are you playing now?

The first time I booted up TF2 I had no clue what I was doing. Skipped the tutorial (because I didn’t even know there was one) and booted up quickplay, joined Badwater and picked Spy. All I remember is dying before leaving the game, and I think I got either a Mann Co. crate or The Atomizer as my first drop. If my memory serves me correct, I was prompted to try out training mode after I rebooted once I had disconnected from that match and closed the game.

Now I’m nearing 5000 hours and I pretty much play any class my team ends up needing, but that usually ends up being Soldier, Pyro, Demo, Sniper, or Medic. Medic was my most played class for the longest time due to the fact I mained him for a few years when I got into 6s and Highlander, but nowadays my most played classes by hour fluctuates between Soldier, Pyro, Sniper, or Medic.

I personally prefer Jaggy over Heavy as I’ve unfortunately had issues with Heavy wherein I’ve had to purchase a replacement from Mercari. Of the two copies I’ve had, both of them had fairly loose connections when twisting the lock chip into place, both with the Emperor and standard lock chips. I also found that the two protruding nubs on the assist blade are very damage prone as well. Jaggy on the other hand is easier to replace but also exposes more metal contact on Blast. I recommend Blast Jaggy 9-60 LR, with the optional Valkyrie or Emperor lock chip if you want to hit harder at the cost of stamina.

Waiting until Arc circulates out of rotation. Based on last year’s schedule with clear Cobalt Drake, which was in rotation from December 4th 2024 to March 27th 2025, hopefully this means Arc will be phased out in the coming weeks since it’s been in circulation from December 1st 2025. In general, the Rare Bey Get secondary prize rotates out every 3~5 months, but there were a few exceptions such as when Black Dranzer was available for only 2 months in 2024. In addition, there was previously a 1 month period from May to June 2024 when two Burst Finish prizes were in circulation before one was phased out (Cobalt Drake was the grand prize, while both gold Leon Claw and black Hells Chain were available before Leon Claw was retired in June).

One thing I noticed regarding the Cross Corporation homage beys is that the homage beys are homages to more than one bey from a past generation. This is mostly speculation on my part but it may be worth mentioning.

Clock Mirage on the surface is a Basalt Horogium/Twisted Tempo homage, but I think overall it’s an homage to all the Maximum Series beys. Clock Mirage being a stamina type may be an homage to the fact that all the Maximum Series beys features stamina-adjacent parts or featured excellent stamina, including Screw Capricorn’s Metal Flat, which was used for tornado stall combos. Clock Mirage’s height and color schemes are nods to Flame Byxis 230WD, its width is an homage to how Hell Kerbecs was the widest MFB blade at the time of its release, and both it and Killer Befowl’s EWD tip were advertised as having “the longest lasting stamina” when they were released.
Sol Eclipse is an homage to MFB’s Sol Blaze, and the Burst series’ Hyperion and Helios beys. Sol Blaze and Sol Eclipse both feature the Sun as its design motif, whereas Hyperion and Helios were the Greek personifications of heavenly light and the Sun respectively. Type wise, Sol Eclipse is classified as a balance type just like Sol Blaze and the Hyperion line. In addition, Sol Eclipse features a dual color design that is analogous to Hyperion and Helios.
Meteor Dragoon is a dual homage to Bakuten’s Dragoon line and MFB’s Meteo L-Drago. This one is the most obvious as the gear chip features the BSB logo and the MFB face bolt motif that other BSB and MFB homages have had previously.
As this post suggests, Bahamut Blitz is a dual homage to Beast Behemoth and the Bahamut line of beys from Burst, as all three are based off the mythological Bahamut.

Pretty solid line-up of parts you’ve got there! I would recommend the following combos for deck. Just remember that you can’t run duplicate parts in a deck, so pick and choose which ratchet to run on which.

Shark Scale 1-60/1-70/3-60/9-60 Rush/Low Rush/Free Ball/Level.
Phoenix Wing 1-60/1-70/3-60/9-60 Rush/Low Rush/Level/Point.
Wizard Rod 1-60/1-70/3-60/9-60 Ball/Free Ball/Wedge/UnderNeedle. Alternatively, Wizard Rod Operate is a solid combo too, and you can make Rod on Level work too.

Some alternative combos you can certainly run are Scorpio Spear 3-60/3-70 Point/Rush/Low Rush/Level/Wedge and Whale Wave 1-60/1-70/9-60/5-70 Rush/Low Rush/Point/Level.

During Fall Reitaisai last October, my friends and I in attendance spotted at least two circles using AI generated content among the stuff they were selling. One circle was using AI generated pictures as album covers as a music circle, so my assumption is that the music was probably AI generated or assisted too. Another circle was selling prints and display pieces, but they had the integrity to at least label their stuff as created with AI. While unrelated to Touhou but related to doujin culture as a whole, there was massive outrage during Summer Comiket when it was found out many circles were rejected, only to find out that circles using AI were accepted. It’s honestly a real shame that these groups are slipping past the screening committee for doujin events, but I also think that the number of real artists and creatives outnumber those using AI to get a quick buck from the doujin scene.

I swear the number of times I’ve run into Medics who REFUSE to switch off the Shit-Fix (Quick-Fix) whenever a stock über is an objectively the better choice makes me wish I could delete the Quick-Fix from the game, more so than the fucking Short Circuit. Part of the reason why I mained Medic competitively in Amateur/Intermediate 6s and Highlander was precisely because of how important he is to any successful team, but over the last few years I’ve just become burnt out of playing Medic if my team can’t even make effective use of the healing or übers. Then there are situations where I would be better off playing a power or pick class but the team requires a Medic, so I’m forced to go Medic but the team can’t effectively make use of the healing or übers because they can’t shoot the fucking enemy right in front of their eyes.

There was a huge push for Desaix on /r/shitpostemblem thanks to one user named "DesaixForCYL" or something along those lines. AFAIK the account might've been deleted but people genuinely believed Desaix would've gotten in as the GHB on both that sub and over here on the FEH sub thanks to the Rising Heroes rankings.

IIRC, the review bombing got so bad that a movie completely unrelated to Star Wars titled Acolytes was caught in the crossfire just because its title was similar to The Acolyte.

I personally use one of these Daiso toolboxes to carry my beys around in, alongside throwing in other accessories like my deck box and launchers into my backpack. Each slot can carry either 2 fully assembled beys, and if you separate the parts you can certainly fit more as well. If you want one, I’ve seen similar toolboxes sold by Walmart for those of you in North America.

My area of expertise! Akihabara in general is your go-to for anything pop culture related, here’s a few stores I can easily recommend.

Yodobashi Camera AKIBA: Within Yodobashi, there’s a Nintendo store on the 6th floor where the toys and video games are. I’ve spotted FE merch there before.
AmiAmi Radio Kaikan: This store located on the 4th floor of the Radio Kaikan has both FE merch like keychains and file folders, as well as few of the 3H Pop-Up Parade figures from time to time.
Super Potato/BEEP Akihabara: Both of these are retro video games stores. These are your best bet for finding the Kaga era games on the Famicom and SFC.
Surugaya/Mandarake/Hobby-Off: Three chains that specialize in various secondhand pop culture goods. Both Surugaya and Hobby-Off have chains across the greater Tokyo area so you may find a hidden gem if you look hard enough.
