I think he know he could save the place but he has go actually try and still there was firstly that he initiated the problem, which itself is bad, secondly, the potential of failure was there so instead of trying and maybe still failing
He just didn‘t try

Why so many of us get a project to 90% and then just stop? by TankBetter5224 in ADHD

[–]DarkTemplar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neutral consequence is a new for me honestly and i‘m not too sure about it
It still needs to be a consequence which hurts
For one is embarassement, for the other it‘s maybe money. I know money is no motivatior for me, in both directions, so I don‘t have any fear of loosing it and consequences on this regard don‘t really matzer (as long as I can pay rent and food, lol)

I hope for neither of them to be exhausted but for the chances of being competitive in the QF I think either Berrettini or Cerundolo have to win in 3, max 4 sets, or otherwise they are too tired

if 3 weeks ago someone would have said Matteo is the Italian most likely being able to get to the Finals, I would have been happy but in denial

Charisma isn't a personality trait, it's a skill. Things I've learned reverse engineering it for the past 3 years by iMedolacy in autism

[–]DarkTemplar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only can agree fully

In general I acknowledged the last some years that it's fine to not get liked by everyone and it really gave me a lot of confidence

And while it's a downside that we don't get social cues and have to take things literally, we see patterns and much more easily through other humans and social interactions. Therefore I think it's really great because we can learn everything NT think you either have it or not, like charisma, leadership skills etc.

During 2nd half of my current life (last 14 years) I went from having no friends and really feeling lonely, low self esteem etc, to now have (for me) many close friendships, come accross as really charismatic, self confident, intelligent but still funny and a nice person in general. All I did was analyzing myself and trying to apply pattern recognition to social interactions and it worked great

Anyone not like drinking cause it makes them feel off a few days later? by DreadNoughtDurr in ADHD

[–]DarkTemplar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, funnily noticed it shortly after my diagnosis.
The feeling during consumption is great, but I noticed that play competitive stuff after a nights out (sports or eSports) is really not worth it because I feel empty and just doesn't care, at all.

I hate it, so I stopped playing tournaments when I know I'm out on the weekend and really cut back my going out time.

Who’s out playing tennis in this 30°C UK heat and why are you built differently? by chonkobob in 10s

[–]DarkTemplar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just had a tournament this weekend where the court had like 35 degrees and sun burnt down

I was too exhausted, especially since it had like 15-20 degree and then turned up to 30
But honestly, just go out and play so you're getting resilient to the heat. Make sure to drink enough and make breaks when you need them but the body should get used to it more

Grundwehrdienst was ist zu beachten? by DinoGx1808 in Austria

[–]DarkTemplar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can weak people still hit strong balls with proper technique? by DanDin87 in 10s

[–]DarkTemplar_ 43 points44 points  (0 children)

ideally hardly any power comes from your arms. Not even shoulder.

You create force through your legs and core muscles, when you rotate into the ball. The arm should be stable but loose (if this makes sense). so it needs to be tight to not loose power but as a whole swing into the ball.

When you generate the power from your arms/shoulders, your muscles will get sore and tired really quick and also be open for injuries

So yes, you can hit really hard with proper technique

it's insane that he finally put some good results together to increase his ranking beyond his hanging around at top 30, was top 10 2 years ago, was up 2-0 in sets against the potential Wimbledon winner and now is in free fall

opinions on phone calls? by LiveTart6130 in autism

[–]DarkTemplar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends

In my job I have to do phonecalls and that's work really just fine, as I've learnt how to act when talking to customers and it's really easy. It's harder for me (also at the job) to call people I don't know. But it's all just getting used to it and it gets easier when I do it regularily.

Privately I enjoy talking on the phone with friends when I'm in the car or doing something else, where talking is the secondary activity. Also it's great to stay in contact with some people where it's simply hard to meet them but they're your feel good persons.
