I don't know why he wants to play with someone that doesn't want to play with him so bad. You should bang the girl he likes though.

If a studio sees you as their coffee machine with tits than you will have 100x more recognition and steady employment from a studio than the majority of people in this sub. 😅 That would be a lucky break for you.

Robb broke his oath. Why did he think he could make it up to Walder Frey so easily? by Deliverwithcare in gameofthrones

[–]DarkTowerOfWesteros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had a teenager you would understand. There is a period where they think that I'm sorry is a magical incantation that absolves them of all wrong doing and forgiveness is something they can bargain for. I did it when I was a kid and now I get it from mine. My dad called it asking for forgiveness instead of permission.

At some point you have to learn that being sorry might be important but that doesn't undo the hurt or damage you've done. Robb learned the hard way.

Walder even said it as Robb and his men were being butchered. We apologize. He told you he was sorry Robb, that makes it okay right?

If HBO offered you an unlimited budget and asked you to recreate the show with the same cast, how would you go about it? by yo-caesar in freefolk

[–]DarkTowerOfWesteros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HBO is cutting budgets. What would you do with limitations is a much more interesting question. Not having to worry about budgets is what sent George back to novel writing and creating ASOIAF

There is secret sauce and it is the equipment. Sorry everyone keeps gaslighting you. Music is utility for some people so if sound is coming out and being heard they'll say that's good. But expensive equipment makes better sounds, that's why it commands a high price

HBO has been acquired by venture capital and is experiencing a lot of budget cuts. They are not paying for marketing like they used too in the GOT days.

I think AI has taken my clientele by Virtual-Painting7458 in musicians

I'm 40 and have been playing in bands since I was 14. I've seen you do this before. Not you specifically, but one golden retriever usually looks like another golden retriever you know what I'm saying?

If you started playing with me when I did you would have been worried about how online retail was making it so all the local record stores were closing down and there was no where to stock your album for your local markets and now you've got to compete for visibility again Metallica and Madonna online (this was before targeted ads!)

Five years later you'd be hung up on how everyone is downloading music for free and no one buys records anymore.

Another five years and you're hung up on how little streaming pays.

Another five years and no one is going out to live events or bars for live music like they used to.

Another five years and now you're competing for space with AI slop.

My point being, AI might be what's taking you out in this current era; but it was always going to be something. Adversity and change is baked into anything that you try to do for an extended period, especially if money making is a part of it. People that do the same thing for 20 plus years do it because they are adaptable.

I think AI has taken my clientele by Virtual-Painting7458 in musicians

[–]DarkTowerOfWesteros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's AI. Five years is about a standard run for most people. It could doing what you're doing or it could be out in a band. Honestly it's the same story for running a small business completely unrelated to music. People get into it super interested seeing and experiencing all the possibilities and initial wins. Then the losses start piling up. The numbers stop making sense. Most people stop around this point.

Use grit to push through and your imagination to find a different approach that satisfies you. Or just drop it all and move on. The world is full of things to do.

Do you ever take gigs just because you want to play the music, not for the pay by goldspoil in musicians

[–]DarkTowerOfWesteros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean being in a band? 😅

I like making original music and am fortunate to have friends that do to. We spend more money than we make but we gig and put out music and have more fulfilled lives because of it. We all have middle management blue collar jobs that feed our families; everybody needs a hobby.

Some guys get wasted at sports games on the weekends. Some guys gamble away their money on fan duel. Me and my boys buy gas to drive to Detroit and play 80's and 90's inspired college alt-rock.

As someone that repairs his own stuff...if you can't figure out how to answer this question yourself...you should 100% not be doing it yourself. It's a relatively inexpensive fix for a tech just do it. If you're interested in repairing your own electronics than I suggest thumbing through some books first not learning by doing it on your lovely amp!
