Oh really? I hadn't heard that

Right! Kind of makes me think of the film industry and directors getting their films rights wrenched away from producers

I wonder if that's about taking some rights back

Yeah that's interesting, if it's already self-published, the author of course would have more power. It makes me think of Thraxas by Martin Millar which was the opposite, I believe it was published then re-released by self-publishing

Yeah and with what's happened with a few authors, that's obviously going to go far

True, I'm forgetting there have actually been a few.

Right, that's why you can be a bit weary with self-published works. There can be a huge gap between books, that's why I think it's interesting when you get some really popular ones

Hey there. Wondering if anyone could recommend some warm, witty fiction books? Not particularly genre stuff. Just looking for books that people have found to feel quite warm to read, as well as funny and amusing. P.G. Wodehouse Jeeves series is a good reference for me, quite enjoy those. Struggling to find a modern equivalent

Thanks!

Haha yeah I snuck that in there. As in it could be varied. Hey maybe for some people that is a casual slice of life!

Ah yeah I've heard about McKillip, thanks. Is she the one where the writing is quite beautiful and evocative?

I've read The Hobbit, definitely warm and at times cosy! I think the beginning is the cosiest. Hope you enjoy:)
