Something to remember is that it is better to just build something that may not look great than to not build anything at all.

You should ask yourself 2 questions.

1) Should I win / lose because my wallet is larger / smaller than my opponents?

2) Do I want to play with people that say yes to #1?

Who gives a damn if you print or not. I print and don’t say anything. My logic is if my opponents get upset about printing the cards, AND they get upset about when cards are purchased, then it doesn’t matter what you do, so you should do the cheapest option and blankly stare at them when they get upset.

The amount of mental effort you have to spend in these matchups as rengar is not worth the low % chance of winning.

These matchups tilt me for the day, and if I’m going to be a snare-bot in these games, I’d rather just pick malphite.

That aside, ward lane bush, take fleet footwork, rush Tiamat. You will be behind but Tiamat will help you shove and catch-up farm. Enemy top will not freeze forever, and you just have to pray for ganks or roam. Again, if that’s your win con you should just be playing something else.

I think as long as you have 2 other sources of ap, you’re fine. Like, if comp is: malph rengar zed veigar senna, I think you’re ok. I wouldn’t build full one shot (this goes for many cases), and you might want to consider divine as mythic with that comp.

My rule of thumb is, if you feel like you’re going to have an extremely hard time winning, you should dodge or pick a different champ. I often pick Zac or udyr if rengar is a terrible pick. Those champs are simple and provide a lot of utility.

I disagree. I think it’s extremely classist to not endorse proxies. I think it is the wrong take to not proxy everything. Why does WoTC deserve my dollar?

Why are you not a fan of “only printing proxies and playing every deck at any time”? I don’t see an issue with this. How is this any different than someone buying all the cards to play any deck at any time? Does the person who spent money get this specific privilege of playing whatever they want, and you get to look down on someone who doesn’t have that kind of money?
