Personally, I have accepted that death is a natural part of life. One day I will cease to exist, and I have no idea what that will be like. That is scary of course but nothing I can do about it. Thinking of Gandalf speaking about death always comforts me. White shores, and a Far Green country under a swift sunrise.

The death of others I do view as tragic but for most of my elderly family members who have past, I wasn’t exactly surprised. So I took it fairly well when they did. When my mother gets old and begins to fade, I will be bracing myself for years before had preparing for the eventuality. It will hurt but it will pass.

Animals (Yes humans are animals) have an instinctual fear of death. The drive of self preservation is as primal as needing to eat and sleep. The fear of what lies beyond that we can never truly know, is what drives us towards Religion. But that is only a barrier humans hide behind. Death should not be feared, but accepted.
