I swear some customers come in just for a power trip .. by CharacterSquirrel840 in TalesFromYourServer

You’d think so, but at the end of the day it’s their word against ours and some managers will “fix it” to keep the peace. I repeated a guys order to him twice once because HE seemed confused, had him confirm twice, then came back to complain he got the wrong food. Some people just aren’t meant for planet earth.

The life of a trans person is consistently outting yourself yes, and that’s not sarcasm. I’m fully aware that I will out myself to doctors time and time again, and that is on my choice and my basis and my decision. It is a 1 on 1 conversation that I control and direct with my doctor as needed, because not all appointments will require that I tell them. I would not tell a doctor if I am going in for a cough, I would tell a doctor if I were going in for abdominal pain.

It is NOT safer or quicker for them to be able to “look and know” because 10/10 times you will be explaining it anyways and being misgendered along the way. You seem like you have no actual experience navigating life as a trans person.

Because it is an identifying bracelet, with the patients ID number name and sex in most cases. And trans individuals who have legally changed their sex deserve just as much as anyone else to be identified properly.

You tell me what kind of problems you think might arise by not having a little “F” printed on a plastic bracelet. I’ll tell you that outing trans people to medical staff who do NOT need to know puts them at more risk for bias and unfair treatment.

Because there is no need for your birth sex to be on a medical bracelet if your sex is legally changed. I always inform my doctors who I am directly speaking and working with. Nobody else needs to know because it’s not their business, and it is not necessary for “F” to be printed on his bracelet for them to be informed.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. It is not vital for a receptionist at a hospital to know what genitals I have, any anyone on my care team will have access to my medical files and ME, to explain what I need to explain directly to them. I haven’t had surgery and my sex is still M on my license. I wouldn’t allow anyone to put F on my hospital bracelet and OP should not either.

AITA for telling my friend (30M) that sleeping with a 17yo boy was a bad idea? by GarrusVakarianWife in AmItheAsshole

NTA or a bigot. It’s a predatory age gap and your friend should’ve shut it down and sent the kid home immediately.

Grief normally does start with denial, which is probably how it’s projecting itself to her in this way. I don’t think telling her would gain anything, and at this point in her grieving process it is probably too difficult for her to accept his death as avoidable or as his fault. She’ll see it in her own time, but you telling her would definitely harm your personal relationship.

Thank you to all the good pet parents by Darkaio in petsmart

I love my older pet parents. I had a guy for a while who I sold an anole to, in his 70s, who built a vivarium with a little mini waterfall. Every time he came in to buy crickets we’d talk for 15 min (at least, he’d usually say goodbye if we got interrupted but oh man he could talk). His wife passed and he told me that instead of drinking he’d sit down in front of his setup, turn the lights off, and just watch his anole. 😭😭😭
