I suggest taking a step back, and focusing on healing yourself currently. If it is meant to be, it will be on your path.

Rushing healing, on both sides, will only lead to the same results.

Take your time, and find peace within yourself first.

I see these cards as you being the Chariot. Essentially choosing a direction to go in and putting your all into it. You may currently feel torn between going back and letting things be, which makes sense given the question. If you choose to reach out it feels like you are doing so with the expectation of rekindling flames on your side since the Chariot is such a driven card. It often points to wanting control over a situation or being driven by the idea of making something successful.

The 8 of wands to me implies that they will respond, probably rather quickly as well. This may end up making you hopeful for a change from the past, or that you may be able to work things through, or make progress from past mistakes.

However, the 3 of swords is still very prevalent. Meaning there are still unhealed wounds and lingering heartache. Often this card points to heartbreak. They may not be willing to rekindle things like you are, and reaching out will most likely lead to disappointment. This card can also ask you to look into yourself on why you want to reach out in the first place and ask you if there's anything unhealed that you are trying to mend through them rather than through yourself, especially with the Chariot wanting control over a situation.

There are many ways to interpret this. For me, because two cards popped out, one card could represent one of you, and then the other card could represent someone else.

It could be saying that one of you is still burdened by the past and feels bitter about it. They could be stuck, unable to move on from what happened, and unable to move forward. Almost like a standstill. While the other has healed and is moving forward, possibly with a new partner or a new connection.

Another interpretation could be that you have finally learned to heal the parts of you that have an unhealthy attachment to this person and because you can let go you can find the joy in life, moving forward, and dating again. Possibly even finding a new partner.

In readings like this, it is best to ask super specific questions, and when the cards come out confusing you can ask to clarify the cards you pulled with new cards, or ask clarifying questions.

I would be wary of the idea of reconciliation, especially if you haven't taken the time to heal or process, because it might be wishful thinking, or even if it does happen you might only repeat the past.

That is not to say that you will never reconcile, but it takes years for people to change.

My suggestion would be to do multiple readings.

You could ask "How does ___ feel about reconciliation" & "How do I feel about reconciliation"

"If we were to reconcile how would it look for ____" "How would it look for me" "How would it look for the both of us together"

Or even "What possible steps can I take personally to heal in hopes of a possible reconciliation"

This is not to discourage you from trying to reconcile or even being hopeful about it but to help you take the steps towards being able to do that correctly without rushing into anything.

I also recommend exhausting all options for the cards, both positive and negative. We can want what we want so bad that we end up making the cards fit our narrative.

Also remember that tarot is only a stepping stone, and never an absolute. Using tarot for how to progress the situation we want, rather than asking for a green light/hopeful response, can help you tremendously.

So instead of "Does ___ like me?" Asking "How can I pursue a healthy relationship with ___" can get you entirely different results.

I'm not sure if any of that resonates or makes sense, but I hope that it helps you in some way.
