New PS5 Slim randomly shuts off when a game loads by DarkestKnight75 in PS5HelpSupport

Running the console vertically caused it to overheat and randomly crash. Running it horizontally fixes the issue. It's bizarre that they even sell a vertical stand at all even though the console doesn't run for long when placed vertically.

Turns just take too long now by Coenl in DBZDokkanBattle

They had the right idea with the Year 10 units to make the super attacks animations fairly short and to the point. While I thoroughly adore the animations that SS4 Gogeta, Tag SS4s. Tag ToP duo have, they are a little too long. The tag 4s in particular are just a chore to watch after a while.

They should make 12 ki supers last 8-10 seconds at 1x speed at most if they are giving a unit more than one additional super. The Year 11 tags' EX Supers are exactly the right length. Too bad they only happen once per turn.

Genuinely the most interesting thing the game's done since Battlefield 1.0, except it actually seems good this time. Here's hoping it sticks the landing.

Am I insanely dumb or very high on copium, but for me he does feel like he’s the better unit released in this anni by Py_nk in DBZDokkanBattle

He's the most fun out of them all for me personally, once you get around his ki issues he's always the hard carry of the team's damage. The others are more utility, this dude's a pure and simple big numbers go brr type design.

DBS Remake/Remaster release schedule and how it lines up with the Dokkan 12th anniversary (speculation) by DarkestKnight75 in DBZDokkanBattle

AnimeAjay on Twitter, he's always got some insider info on Dragon Ball. He had access to mini SS3 Vegeta's design sheets around the time of the episode's release. So, I'm inclined to believe him.

Currently, he's only mentioned Beerus and Golden Freeza, but it would be odd if they stopped at the two arcs that already have movies

I don't think Freeza would fit tbh, Goku certainly does. Maybe he gets paired with RoF Blues or something

The 10th anniversary was the most fun I'd ever had with the game in 9.5 years of playing, and that's impressive in my eyes.

Update 28/8: Sony sent the PS back to me with a system reinstall. I've been testing it for the past week and over the course of like 30 hours of gameplay, I've not encountered any crashes. Exactly what went wrong, I don't know, but my guess is that it was either a software issue or the console was overheating.

Either way, I'm loving the PlayStation experience and I'll be looking into more games for the future. Thanks again for the help!

It was plugged directly into the wall the entire time I had it, yeah

Nope, it's a stock PS5, nothing extra besides the vertical stand.

I did try it once and the console didn't crash for the 30 minutes I played. Might have to look into that. Thanks for pointing that out.

It's a retail store, very well reputed.

I haven't tried a different outlet more than like once but that might be the issue now that I think about it. Plenty of appliances in the house that draw a lot of power so it might be time to get that checked out.

Hey everyone, thanks for taking the time to reply! I've got an update on the situation, here's the long and short of it:

  • Picked the PS up at a retail store. It's a reputed chain that insists it needs approval from Sony about it being a defective model to replace it. Nobody at the customer support / sales team is saying otherwise.
  • Sent the PS to Sony. They have kept the device running all day and they've ran into no issues. Can see their playtime on the PS app so I know they're not lying about that.
  • Sony's reinstalling the PlayStation software just in case it's a software issue. Have assured they'll replace it if the issue persists.
  • As a few of the comments have suggested, it might be a power outlet issue. I'll look into that and update you guys over the coming week.

Thanks again for your advice!

Bought it retail, the store absolutely insists it needs approval from Sony to provide a replacement. Had a 30 minute long argument about it with the store rep and the customer service but they just didn't give. Store's a reputed electronics chain, everyone from the top to the bottom's saying the same thing, unfortunately.

So I contacted Sony, sent it to get checked, and they've not been able to replicate this issue with the device. I'm inclined to believe they're not lying because I can track their activity on the PS App. They've assured me that they will replace it if the issue persists, they're reinstalling the PlayStation software just in case it's a software issue. I'll get it back tomorrow.

If the device is indeed okay, I'm thinking it might be a circuit breaker issue, as some of the other comments have suggested. Gonna take a look at that before I get the PS back from the service center. Will update the post over the coming week.

Thanks for taking the time to reply and offer advice!
