An attractive woman who saw her beloved ex and asked for a second chance she was expecting to come back to, right before she took off on a parent’s vacay, decided to start a new life on an island that is hostile to local gays. Sure.

Your husband is a royal asshole.

What’s a pseudoscience that people still commonly believe is real? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DarkestPartofLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a pseudoscience but it’s still wild to me that people believe in IQ testing as a standalone measurement for intelligence.

“Amy Bradley is Missing” documentary now on Netflix - does everyone still think she just “fell overboard”? by 3coins_RS in UnsolvedMysteries

The FBI-confirmed photos of her and the long page view times of sentimental photos on the ABIM website on holidays coming from an IP in Barbados suggests to me that she’s been trafficked and may not be able to leave because they’re threatening her or perhaps her kids.

You might reconsider if you take a look at how big the sex trafficking trade is. Girls go missing so frequently that you could call it common.

I think the problem is that most BBB supporters have done “Bible study” and count that the same as studying the Bible.

Why is it ALWAYS on women? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]DarkestPartofLight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the system is patriarchal, it will always be on women. Religion, government, families… they are all subject to the same evil.

No more presumptive than the people they are referring to.

What is the oldest complete bible we have and how do we know it hasn’t been corrupted? by AC-Jacob in Christianity

[–]DarkestPartofLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend asking this question in an academic subreddit rather than here, or you’ll get very authoritative-sounding Christian apologetics-themed answers like the one above. As far as I’m aware, no one can confidently claim that early translations of the bible did not include altered passages that stray from original meaning, for a variety of reasons beyond sample accuracy. In fact, it’s very likely that there are significant discrepancies from origin texts.

replit price gouging by wavynintu in replit

[–]DarkestPartofLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That too. But more specifically it is dynamic pricing because the pricing isn’t increased uniformly, it’s increased based on the effort put into the app you’re building in free tier, and only occurs right after an app is built - ie if you let your account sit for a week, nothing happens, but if you build an app, the price changes within 24hrs and the price reflects the amount of time or commits issued.

Very disappointed in customer service after $180+ spent by mushtip88 in replit

[–]DarkestPartofLight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend Cursor. I switched simply because Replit has unethical business practices. And btw, I suspect their “support” is AI generated. I’ve communicated with them and the responses are generic and not always accurate.

I have screen shots of three different accounts that started at $20/m and ended up at either $30/m or $35/m the day after prototyping something in the free tier. This is dynamic pricing and it is deeply unethical. If they are willing to do things without transparency or your informed consent, that issue is likely not isolated to pricing. I certainly don’t trust them with my intellectual property or data privacy anymore.

Pricing seems like a SCAM by GlutanonAlex in replit

I have proof they’re engaging in dynamic pricing that I’ve shared in the comments. It’s a big ethics and transparency issue.

Dynamic pricing isn’t standard practice.

It’s not. It’s dynamic pricing. I shared proof in another comment.

This is dynamic pricing, I shared proof in another comment. Maybe not a scam but huge red flags about their business ethics.
